Using a compassionate and client-centered approach, I support each person in working toward their goals at a pace that feels right for them. I prioritize understanding what you want to get out of therapy and I work with you to develop a plan to get there. Insight is an important part of therapy, and I balance this with helping you find ways to actually see changes in your life and relationships. Working with me will feel like we are actually "getting somewhere". I describe my style as open-minded, warm and empowering. I also like therapy to feel like a natural conversation and my personality is naturally grounded and down to earth. Clients often share with me that I'm able to accurately capture and reflect how they are feeling, and they also appreciate my willingness to challenge their stuck points. My approach is all about supporting you in gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, while also finding the courage to change old patterns that are no longer serving you.

I have specialized training in supporting women and families in the post partum period as well working with intergenerational trauma. I look forward to connecting if this sounds like it may be a fit for you on your healing journey.
We are more disconnected than ever - from our communities, our purpose, our families, our partners, and our selves. The work of connection happens within you, and it ripples outward, nourishing connectivity and meaning in the parts of your life that really matter. It's a radical act to invest in connecting, and to invest in your relationship with yourself. As a therapist, I am warm, curious, and non judgmental. I am interested in challenging you gently (or not gently if that's what you'd prefer), exploring different perspectives, and supporting you in zooming out and tuning in. My approach is deeply compassionate, sometimes whimsical, and tailored to your needs and goals. Let's dive in! I would love to connect and to see if we are good fit. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a free introductory consultation. My practice is through the Center for Mindful Psychotherapy and I am supervised by Margaret Goodwin, LMFT 103426.

Hi and welcome! I’m Scott and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and a Board-Certified Music Therapist in Pasadena. I am passionate and experienced in working with young adults and college students. Transitioning into adulthood can be an incredibly challenging and confusing time. You are exploring who you are, where you fit and what you value. Juggling the demands of college, jobs and careers, relationships and your own emerging independence can be overwhelming. This can also be a time where underlying mental health challenges, dysfunctional family patterns and past traumas can surface, leaving you chronically stressed, anxious, depressed and without guidance. I understand what this time of life can feel like and draw from many years of specializing with young adults in all levels of mental health care as well as my own personal experiences. I believe in the unique strengths, stories and resiliency of each individual and will partner with you to help you achieve your goals, find true healing and live an authentic life.

We often face difficult hurdles in life where we are unsure of what path to take next. Life is not to be navigated alone and it takes bravery to ask for help. I believe finding the right therapist you are comfortable with is essential for growth and healing. My approach focuses on compassion and self-reflection as we navigate through some of those difficult life hurdles. I believe that therapy should be designed to help each individual based on their needs. Therefore, each session will be designed especially for you as we focus on your treatment goals. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and military members and their families, in a range of settings including psychiatric in-patient facilities, individuals incarcerated by law enforcement, foster care agencies, Child Welfare Services, and in homes / communities. My areas of focus include adjustment, mood disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, trauma, relationship issues, suicidal thoughts and feelings, self-harm, life transitions and parenthood. As a military veteran, former foster youth, and now a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, I have learned that everyone experiences pain and feelings differently and with the right support and skills, therapeutic goals can be met. I am committed to supporting my clients toward a path of empowerment, self-awareness, understanding, and compassion to my clients while helping them to identify and reach their therapeutic goals.

Many people experience adversity, wondering what happened in their life. They may have difficulty navigating relationships, question their gender identity, or feel under pressure at school or work, unsure of how to make it through the day. Moments like these can be overwhelming, but with guidance and support, many can not only survive but flourish. I teach clients skills to better tackle daily challenges. My experience working with LGBTQ+ youth and young adults prepared me to help clients overcome adversity and live authentically. My goal is to help clients challenge unhelpful thoughts that wear them down and promote problem-solving. I hope to empower clients to grow and even inspire others to grow.
My training is in both medical and clinical mental health settings where I have gained an expertise in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep concerns and insomnia, chronic pain and other chronic illness adjustment difficulties. I also have a passion for working with mothers and women who are pregnant or postpartum and are looking for support through these critical life stages.
I’m passionate about promoting growth. I’m excited to work with you and support you on your journey to self-healing and personal development. My goal is to create a safe space where everyone feels seen, heard, and in a non-judgmental environment. I understand how hard that first step can be, and I would love to walk this journey with you.
