Dr. Anna Morgan-Mullane, LCSW is a trauma-focused psychotherapist, professor, clinical supervisor, and the visionary founder of Echo Community Practice—a collective of therapists committed to healing through connection, reflection, and justice-centered care. Dr. Morgan-Mullane’s work is grounded in a deep belief that healing must be relational, liberatory, and rooted in community care. For over two decades, Dr. Morgan-Mullane has specialized in trauma-responsive therapy, relational and narrative therapy, and abolitionist clinical frameworks, offering care to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Her practice is deeply informed by somatic healing practices, critical race theory, intersectional feminism, queer theory, and healing from trauma or relational wounds. As a Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I am passionate about supporting clients learn how to uncover their resources, build upon their strengths, discover unhelpful patterns, and make the changes necessary to improve daily functioning, health, and relationships.
I work collaboratively with my clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, with this improved understanding we are able to identify and practice healthy and satisfying life strategies. Often my clients come with concerns about self-esteem, relationship challenges, family conflicts and adjustment issues related to college. Together, in a non-judgmental environment, we are able to sort through and make sense of issues that may seem particularly challenging.
I am a Los Angeles based psychotherapist and counselor committed to supporting my clients on their journey of learning and personal growth. My areas of focus include working with adults who are facing difficult life transitions or facing challenges in their relationships. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. My clinical experiences range from providing individual psychotherapy to adults in outpatient clinics, and crisis intervention and group psychotherapy with adults and adolescents in inpatient psychiatric hospitals. I have also worked with our homeless population across LA County, providing outreach, brief psychotherapy, and referrals to community resources and mental health services. My approach when working with all clients is client-centered and strengths-based. I value the person-in-environment perspective, so I can better understand my clients and their mental health in the context of their environment, and not just through their behavior and psyche.

Our practice is a good fit for people who are intelligent, curious, and open to self-exploration. We provide individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, and ADHD assessments. Through these services we encourage empowerment, self-discovery, and resiliency. We value inclusiveness and have consciously created a space where all can seek help and self-discovery. Our clients come in a variety of races, sexualities, genders, religions, body sizes, and relationship structures.
We all have the capacity for healing through self-discovery, self-awareness, and community. My role is to ease clients into a journey of healing, becoming more authentic in their creative works and relationships, and challenging inner dialogue that does not serve them by finding compassion and empathy for themselves. I engage my clients by creating a safe space where we can collaboratively work on developing a more intimate relationship with the "inner self." I'm a warm, intuitive, empathetic, and connected therapist who can be a witness to your journey. I primarily work from anti-racist, trauma-informed, attachment and somatic modes of therapy paying close attention to clients’ varying identities, intersection of these identities, and understanding their experience from a socio-cultural perspective. Mind-body connections, ancestral wisdom, social justice and multiculturalism are central to my approach. My passion and experience lies in working with young adults, artists and creatives, individuals from the BIPOC and LGBTQIA community, women, and partners engaging in family planning. I have significant experience in guiding individuals seeking gender confirming treatment, navigating medical systems, and exploring gender and sexual orientation identity.

I trained in Boston. Boston College was my graduate school, Beth Israel Hospital the site of my clinical education, and MIT, where I was a Senior Research Associate, the start of my professional career. In 1976, I emerged a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts and began a practice treating young people, couples, and families. I also worked as a community therapist with teachers, parents, and students, to help integrate three Boston's public schools. In California I completed additional training and was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I acquired experience in different approaches to treatment including, Cognitive Behaviorism, Family Systems, Narrative, Object Relations, Solution Focused, and Strategic therapy. I have extensive experience working with artists, trauma victims and addicts. I also train interns at a community mental health clinic. This was not my first career. I worked as an editor and a documentary filmmaker. The skills I developed became invaluable to me as a therapist. I learned to listen–for what is said but also for what is left unsaid--and to recognize the impact that social structures have on our life stories.
