Therapists for college students near 80204
We are all a product of our stories— the good, the bad, and everything between. Many times, we aren’t aware of how rooted we are in past beliefs and relationship narratives or how deeply they’ve impacted our current choices and decisions. Therapy allows us to uncover the different sides of ourselves, to unlearn unhelpful beliefs and to emphasize positive ones. Together, we can create a collaborative environment that will help you gain a greater sense of self-awareness and self-esteem. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, and PTSD with a range of modalities including EMDR and IFS. Focused on college students and adults. My therapeutic approach has been described as warm, positive, and creative. My intuitive and down-to-earth approach paired with my clinical expertise will create a foundation for you to feel safe and seen, listened to and understood. We’ll work together to get you on a path toward renewal and the understanding of self. Therapy is not a “one size fits all” approach. I get to know each of my clients individually to devise a plan that will best work for them. Currently, I am located in Bozeman, Montana and am dually licensed in Montana and Colorado and see individuals via telehealth. I look forward to connecting with you!
Do you feel overwhelmed, disconnected or unmotivated? Have you noticed changes in how you're feeling in your life and want to feel better? The past year has been a challenge for all of us, on every level. Having to manage the challenges of school, work and relationships during a pandemic has led many students to feel intense stress and anxiety, self-doubt, loneliness and depression. Learning about yourself and finding ways to manage challenges all leads to a sense of more control in your life and more confidence overall. I believe that when we take time to connect and have a space to talk, we realize what we're feeling is human and valid. Even in our hardest times, we all have strengths to build upon. I work with you to increase your awareness of your thoughts, your body and how to feel more connected to both. I am passionate about working with teens and young adults and work with many college students. I believe in an inclusive, supportive, collaborative therapy experience that feels empowering to you. I use a blended approach to therapy, focusing on strengths and skills and enjoy working on communication, self-advocacy and healthy relationships. I also blend skills such as mindfulness and other techniques to address specific anxiety disorders, such as social anxiety and OCD.
College is a time of transition and change. This can be a time of struggle and existential anxiety for many people. Everyone has times of uncertainty. I will help you explore who you are and what your predicaments are as you become more yourself. You do not have to do this alone. I have many years experience working with people in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics at all levels. Together we can explore your life and relationships to discover ways in which you can live more authentically, in alignment with your values. I trained and worked in England before moving to Boulder in 2010. I have worked with students and academics all over the world and have over 30 years experience as a therapist; I bring all of that with me as I meet each new client. I will help you describe, clarify and unravel your relationship to the world, your self and other people. We do not have to start with your childhood.

Additionally, we offer virtual IOP in the mornings and evenings for commercial insurances only. Harmony Recovery is in-network with most major insurance companies including Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, ComPsych, UCHealth, Humana, Poudre School District, Optum, United Health, Kaiser, Medicaid, Multiplan, PHCS, Mines, Rocky Mtn Health Plans and many more. During the client’s stay in our residential care, they will benefit from 24-hour attention provided by highly skilled staff, ensuring comprehensive clinical, medical, and spiritual support. Individualized treatment is based on each client’s personal goals and preferences, level of motivation, co-occurring mental health, medical, and spiritual needs. The residential addiction treatment program consists of men’s and women’s tracks. These tracks conducted separately, with men and women living and receiving treatment in separate facilities. This allows us to address the underlying issues that affect each differently that contribute to the disease of addiction. Mornings focus on group-based cognitive behavioral therapy, leveraging the outdoors as often as possible. Daily hikes along our “12 Step” Trail are normal, while afternoons are set aside for educational offerings. Individually, clients meet weekly with a primary therapist and a case manager. Additional services are available as well, such as specialty groups for 12 Step, Trauma, and Co-Occurring Disorders. Clients diagnosed with mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar, and other trauma-related responses, meet with appropriate staff. Clinical staff work with clients to teach healthy coping skills while the medical team provide medication management.
Do you feel sad, overwhelmed or stuck? Are you facing a difficult life transition or maybe you are struggling in your relationship? The circumstances of life can leave us feeling alone and uncertain of what lies ahead. We are more than our problems. We were not designed to face these deep challenges alone. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, stress, aging, family conflict or life transitions, I’m here to work with you. In our deeply isolated and atomized society, seeking help can be a radical act. It can also require a leap of faith; you are trusting that someone you do not know will be able to help you navigate the challenges you face. By being here, you have already begun the work that will set you on a path toward greater connectedness and contentment. My passion is helping and together we will co-create ways for you to find hope, meaning, identify patterns, overcome obstacles and develop a pathway to meet your goals. I work with adolescents age 16 through adults offering individual, couples and family counseling. I aim to create a safe and compassionate space to help you understand your experiences and relationships with greater ease and more joy. Deep, loving and mutually gratifying relationships can happen in many configurations. In a non-judgmental way, I work to support you in having the relationships you want to have with the people you love.
Hi, I'm Jonathan. I'm a down-to-earth, easygoing guy. Beyond that, I'm also a therapist. I often find myself working well with those hoping to get more out of life, whether that involves building confidence, developing good relationships, creating positive habits, understanding your identities, or adjusting to new life circumstances. I'll listen without judgment to really understand you, but also gently push you to be the best version of yourself. After all, we're here to solve problems and find solutions. While therapy can look a lot of different ways, I've found that transparency, humor, and consistency are a few of the key ingredients. Personally, I have felt how transformative therapy can be (despite my initial skepticism). My hope is to be able to offer that to others too. You can connect with me by phone, email, or my website to schedule a free consultation. Let's see if we're a good fit.
Hello! My name is Jasmine Cepeda, LCSW. I am a psychotherapist licensed in New York, New Jersey, & Colorado, based in Brooklyn, NYC. I believe all human beings want to be seen, understood, and accepted. As a therapist, I offer a warm, safe, and patient space for such an experience. We all need someone to empower, validate, and actively listen to us in an empathic way, which is what I strive to do. With over a decade of clinical experience, my therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in helping individuals foster self-reflection and emotional expression. I guide clients through life transitions and help them process a diverse range of emotions, thoughts, traumas, and complex relationships that may cause distress. For instance, I assist clients in processing feelings such as worry, shame, guilt, fear, and sadness, while also facilitating acceptance, trust, hope, forgiveness, accountability, and a sense of enoughness. My practice is also trauma-informed, ensuring that the impacts of past traumas are validated and that safety and trust are established during the healing process. With an eclectic therapeutic approach, I tailor my services to each person's unique needs, employing three main modalities: Emotion Focused/ Psychodynamic Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, & Mindfulness-based/Somatic-based Therapy. Please visit the Frequently Asked Questions section for additional details about these modalities. My approach is centered around helping clients develop self-esteem, authenticity, and emotional regulation skills through building a compassionate presence and mindful awareness. We focus on the present, while integrating the past and being courageously hopeful for the future, even if uncertain. Utilizing the virtual therapy platform Doxy, I provide accessible and convenient care without compromising quality. I am also the author of the books and guided journals: 12 Ways to Cope With Your Latina Mom & Her Difficulties and 12 Ways to Cope With Your Latino Dad & His Difficulties, available on amazon or through direct purchase. Outside of therapy, my interest includes yoga, meditation, and cooking! We often feel trapped by our circumstances, voiceless in our relationships and powerless to cause significant change in our lives. But whether you are seeking individual, couples, or group therapy, you have taken a leap into the process of healing. With curiosity and a fresh perspective, I aim to empower you to reclaim your voice, work towards the change you seek, and to meet your authentic self. Though you have already taken the first step, I hope to foster the healing process even further by providing a deeply caring, non-judgmental atmosphere. It has been important for me to work with a wide breadth of clients. I have experience with diverse age groups, races, gender identities, and sexual orientations, and have worked in community mental health, residential treatment, school settings, and private practice. If you are are seeking a space to explore feelings connected to lack of motivation, avoidance, anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulty in platonic and romantic relationships, and feeling burnout from your current way of moving through the world, know that there is hope of having a different experience of yourself, your relationships and the world around you. Within working with a wide breath of clients, I have a passion for men’s mental health and working with young men and the issues that come up in their lives today. Through it all, however, my approach has always been focused on the human in front of me, and in meeting them where they are. I work with my individuals, couples and groups to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and your relationships. With a psychodynamic lens and a belief that as a species we all have the need to connect, I look forward to hearing from you to see how we may feel about working together.
Clients who I work best with want to know something about themselves. They may be suffering with any number of symptoms, but also have a curiosity. Maybe there is a sense of something still to be discovered. Through my work with Inner World Building, a hands on, active, somatic therapy, the unknown can be known, felt and expressed in a way that words can't. Not sure if this approach is for you? Feel free to try a demo session and decide for yourself if the method will be useful. The base of this therapy is making, building in the sand and with the figures; not talk therapy. But talking and integrating one's experience is an additive important part of the process.
Welcome! I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship concerns, and eating/body image issues. College can be a whirlwind of new experiences, freedoms, and responsibilities. Add to that the current state of the world, and things can easily feel heavy. It's common that in the overwhelm of managing it all, anxiety around life, relationships, and food becomes a way to cope. If you've been struggling, you don't have to carry the weight of it alone-- finding a therapist you like and trust can change everything. I am trained in somatic therapy, which means we include body awareness as a way to get beneath the conscious mind and anxious thoughts that play on repeat. This helps to get in touch with what's really going on and find sustainable relief. Clients often say that somatic therapy promotes deeper change than other types of therapy they've tried before. I know it can take a lot of energy to start with a new therapist. I'm proud of you for caring for yourself by taking these steps. Reach out for a free 30-minute call so we can get to know each other and see if it's a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!

We offer affirming psychotherapy and sex therapy for individuals, couples, multiple-partner relationships, and poly and leather families. We are experts in alternative sexualities, specializing in working with adults in the kink/BDSM, polyamorous/non-monogamous, trans/gender-nonconforming/non-binary, LGBQIA+, and sex work communities. We work with those who live openly and out; and those who have more conservative and private lifestyles. We use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including holistic, person-centered, collaborative, empowerment-focused, trauma-informed, IFS, DBT, and EMDR. We welcome people of every ability, age, gender, national origin, race/ethnicity, religious affiliation, and sexual orientation, and we cultivate space for conversations that de/reconstruct whiteness, and cultivate positive racial and intersectional identities. People seek therapy for many reasons, including: a deeper understanding of identity or sexuality; difficulty adjusting to relationship difficulties or traumatic experiences; anxiety and/or depression; sexual functioning issues; compulsive thoughts or behavior; and/or changes in relationship structure or power dynamic. Most people decide to work with my practice because of my specialized training and experience, or because they feel more comfortable speaking to a therapist with first-hand knowledge of alternative identities and lifestyles.
Madeline (Maddi) DeBoer holds her Masters of Social Work and is licensed in both Iowa and Alabama. Maddi received her B.S. in psychology at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul and her M.A. in social work from the University of Northern Iowa, where she extensively studied trauma-informed and evidenced-based practices. She completed her master’s-level internships at St. Luke’s Hospital and Tanager Place in Cedar Rapids, IA. She made the transition to a private group practice a year ago and thrives in helping clients find ways to successfully manage their specific anxieties. Maddi is also a certified yoga teacher.
My goal as a therapist is to create a supportive environment for folks to explore their gender and sexuality. Perhaps you identify as queer, bi, lesbian, gay, pan, ace, trans, nonbinary, agender, poly, kinky, something else, all of the above, or nothing at all. You deserve to have a space where you can learn more about your identity without judgment or pressure. As a queer person who has sought out therapy myself, I know how challenging it can be to find an affirming therapist. Even if your identity isn’t central to your therapy goals, I will always aim to honor and validate every part of who you are in our work. My therapeutic style is collaborative and anti-oppressive. My approach is integrative, using tools from a variety of therapeutic modalities—relational, CBT, narrative, sex therapy—that are best suited to each unique client. In addition to specializing in identity, I support clients experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and relationship issues. My aim is to co-create a space with you that facilitates growth, emotional awareness, and authentic self-expression. Please reach out if you have any questions about my work or about therapy more generally. I'm glad that you're seeking out the care you need right now, and I hope that we have the opportunity to connect more soon.

Many folks who sit with me share the weight of being a human in a world that does not seem to honor, value, or support them. It can feel exhausting to continue carrying our wounded selves through a sea of ongoing oppression and late stage capitalism. All the while, we continue to feel the pain of our childhood wounding and challenges with relationship and connection. It can feel overwhelming and hopeless. How do we find our way in all of this? Sometimes when I sit with others, I imagine we are sitting at a table where you can lay out all the many wounds, fears, disappointments, losses, and challenges of being a human. Together, we can look at each challenge and honor it. We honor what it has to say, what teaching it has, what pain it carries. Somehow, in the process of holding this space, we often find the tightness of the pain loosens. In this process, we develop a greater capacity for holding and processing emotion, paving the way for a richer life. As we move forward, we often discover a greater capacity for joy, connection, fulfillment, and love! After all, this is another hallmark of being human, finding joy and love alongside the pain and challenge. If you're interested in sitting at the table with me, please reach out for a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
