Hi, I am Misty. I work with college students, children, teens and adults who feel worn down by anxiety, low mood, stress, or health changes and want to feel steady and present again. You might reach out for support with depression, anxiety, ADHD, burnout, or trouble sleeping, yet what you are really longing for is relief, clarity, and a sense that your mind and body are finally on the same team. Many of my clients are caregivers or helping professionals who show up for everyone else and are ready for a space that is just for them, where they can slow down, be heard, and begin to restore balance. In our work together, I offer warm, collaborative care that helps you feel seen while we untangle what is happening beneath the surface. I provide holistic medication management, CBT and DBT-style therapy, help with ADHD and burnout struggles, and support for major depressive disorder. If you feel tired of carrying so much on your own, you are not alone. You deserve a space where you can slow down, be heard, and feel supported. If this resonates, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take the next step.

My approach as a therapist focuses on providing a space that centers your dignity and care. As a professor and administrator in a university, I recognize and understand the competing needs and interests of students. Sometimes managing studies, and other responsibilities, including work, family, relationships, can be overwhelming, and it can be difficult to prioritize what is important. This might manifest as burnout, lack of focus, feelings of anxiety or sadness, as well as chronic or recurring illness, fatigue, impulsive behavior, or isolation. Often it is helpful to have a safe space to unload and release what is on our minds, and share what we are holding. I understand starting this therapeutic process requires courage and vulnerability, and I am dedicated to building a collaborative partnership that honors your experiences and needs, offers a space where you are seen and heard, and feels empowering. My therapeutic approach is care centered, and incorporates a social justice and trauma informed lens, to meet your unique needs and identities. When helpful, I also used mindfulness and somatic approaches to support reflection, regulation, and resilience. Reach out to schedule a Free 15-minute Video Consultation to help us determine if we're the right fit. I look forward to working with you!
Figuring out who you are and what you want while in college is such a powerful but stressful time. Not to mention trying to navigate friendships, family, your own mental health, and possibly figuring out other identity pieces, too (such as sexuality, gender identity, or possible neurodivergence). I get how confusing and big things can feel and I would absolutely love to dive into all of the things that are important to you. Helping you sort through your emotions, ideas, boundaries, relationships, values, identity, and where you want to go in life (and attempt to take care of yourself in the process). I bring creativity, humor, experiential approaches (art or somatic work), and trauma-informed perspectives to how I work. I am also a queer and neurodivergent identified therapist, so I understand the process of coming to understand yourself when you feel different from the world around you.
I help college students with anxiety, ADHD and family conflict. I specialize in helping them with the uncertainty of being on their own, the pressure of pleasing their family, and working through relationship stressors to graduate. Most of my clients are young men making a transition to launching and women that feel judged by other women and family.

Hello, I enjoy supporting college students who are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, relationship struggles, life transitions, and grief and loss. I am passionate about supporting women in particular. I specialize in fostering deeper self-knowledge and self-compassion through mindfulness techniques, Internal Family Systems, and art therapy. These approaches offer a compassionate, trauma-informed, and acceptance-based framework for inner inquiry, helping to improve emotional regulation and alleviate the severity of symptoms. In our sessions together, you can expect a warm, caring, and nonjudgmental space where I will support you explore new ways of addressing inner conflicts and emotional distress with greater confidence and clarity. What makes my practice unique is my commitment to working from an open-hearted place.
College can be disruptive and difficult. I am here to support you as you navigate the challenges and opportunities that arise in this season of life. I want to help you live your most meaningful life. I will work with you to deeply explore who you are, what you truly want, and what past beliefs or experiences may be holding you back from your growth. Together, we will uncover the ways in which you may have abandoned parts of yourself over time. Using masks or personas as a means of survival can damage you on a core level, reinforcing the false belief that you are not enough as you are. But the truth is: you are enough. Let’s examine the events, people, and circumstances that have wounded your sense of self, so you can reconnect with the authentic person you are. Therapy is a hero's journey that requires vulnerability, but the honesty you will find is profoundly liberating. If you are ready to begin this transformative work, I would be honored to meet with you for a free consultation to see if we’re a good match. If you have questions or want to learn more, please visit my website at www.theworkshoptherapy.com, or feel free to reach out via phone at (206)920-7168 or email.
I work best with students who are high-achieving, thoughtful, and often putting a lot of pressure on themselves to succeed. Many of the students I support feel anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out, even when things look “fine” on the outside. I also work closely with students from multicultural backgrounds who are navigating identity, family expectations, or a sense of not fully belonging. I have extensive experience supporting students who have been impacted by trauma, including sexual assault, relationship violence, and other difficult life experiences. I spent four years working at the Office of Victim Assistance at CU Boulder, and I bring a steady, compassionate approach to creating a space where students feel safe, supported, and in control of their healing process.

To speak of one’s experience can open the door to self-examination and potential change. By giving voice to thoughts that are otherwise left unsaid, it’s possible to both articulate one’s pain and find ways out of suffering. As a clinician, I seek to give each individual room to speak freely and openly about their experience of life, without offering prescriptive solutions to unique concerns. My clinical approach is primarily psychoanalytic and psychodynamic, where I invite people to speak of their experience without censoring their thoughts, leaving room for the expression of something unexpected. I also draw from other practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy and narrative therapy, if they suit a particular client or situation. Just as each individual is different, so is every treatment.
