Individuals struggling with suicidal ideation can come to The Hope Institute for treatment, to increase hope, and obtain the ability to safely wait for ongoing outpatient care, when needed. Our approach is unique, as it is based in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), two of the most effective, evidence-based models currently available for treating suicidality. With the use of CAMS and DBT, the clinician and client will work together to solve problems. CAMS is an evidenced-based therapeutic framework for suicide-specific assessment and treatment of a patient’s suicidal risk. Each session of CAMS intentionally utilizes the patient’s input about what is and is not working. All assessment work in CAMS is collaborative; we seek to have the patient be a “co-author” of their own treatment plan (CAMS-care, 2024). DBT is a type of talk therapy that gives clients skills in regulating their emotions, tolerating distress, maintaining healthy relationships, practicing mindfulness and thinking from perspectives other than their own. THI is home to multiple clinicians who are certified and trained in CAMS and DBT. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based behavior focused treatment intended to help clients build a life worth living while reducing suicidal and self-harming behaviors. Parent and teen groups are available. DBT groups provide clients with five core skills to manage intense emotions and enhance day-to-day life: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and dialects.

Everyone deserves a safe and nonjudgmental space to be truly heard. I specialize in helping young adults and college-aged individuals navigate life’s complicated middle— transitions, uncertain decisions, relationship challenges, and identity shifts. I also specialize in treatment for anxiety and depression. I have over 19 years of experience providing therapy and interventions with youth and young adults. My extensive experience in school social work has given me the opportunity to better understand the social, behavioral, and emotional experiences that young people navigate each day.
Pamela French Newman (she/her/hers), graduated in May 2022 with a Masters Degree from Naropa University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Somatic Counseling Program with a concentration in Body Psychotherapy. Pamela’s approach to counseling is strength-based, humanistic, relational, and mind/body-centered. She focuses on working with the nervous system as a way to work towards emotional regulation. Before coming to Naropa she spent five years teaching yin, restorative, and trauma informed yoga in the Boston area. Through her own personal practice as well as teaching yoga, her curiosity around the healing powers of the mind-body connection grew. Her first hand awareness of the mind-body connection as a therapeutic tool led her to find Somatic Counseling which is a form of psychotherapy that values this connection.
I am a psychotherapist in Boulder, Colorado and have spent my career working with people to find solutions, move towards recovery and create positive change in their lives. My focus is helping you to figure out the path forward to improve your quality of life. That might mean finding emotional stability, processing trauma, creating personal growth, or improving relationships. I have worked with college students, both undergraduate and graduate students, for the last 10 years at the University of Colorado Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) doing individual, group and couples therapy. Upon starting private practice, I intentionally found an office close to campus as I hoped to continue working with students. I love working with students on the challenges that come up in college and grad school such as adjusting to college and academic stress, processing issues that you may have hoped to leave at home, or working through new experiences or traumas that are causing distress. I seek to provide my clients with a safe and non-judgmental space in order to move towards emotional health and stability. I specialize in EMDR trauma therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness based treatments to help with trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders and feeling stuck in life.
Hello! I've spent my entire career (30+ years) working with undergraduate and graduate university students, both in the United States and abroad. I've worked in several University Counseling Centers and also serve as an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Department of Applied Psychology at NYU. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals, including those from diverse backgrounds, who are grappling with many different issues: transition to college, relationship struggles, family issues, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, identity, sexual orientation, grief/loss, and existential challenges. I've worked with student-athletes, international students, people of color, LGBTQIA individuals, study-abroad students, members of Greek Life, and graduate/doctoral students. I am a down-to-earth, insightful, non-judgmental, REAL, sometimes funny, and consistently compassionate therapist. I love working with college students! I've been told by many clients that I'm easy to talk to. I will listen, support you, provide honest feedback, and help you to navigate your challenges effectively so you can be your best self as you pursue your educational and life goals. I am based in Boulder, Colorado can meet with you virtually or in-person at my office on Broadway. I look forward to hearing from you!
Let’s be real. These have been dark times, and uncertainty still abounds. Old wounds may be coming to the surface, and the thought of facing them may feel downright terrifying……it is terrifying. I believe that these moments are opportunities for us to learn, accept, and grow in our capacity to be Compassionate with ourselves, and with one another. This is how Transformational Healing occurs. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger issues, relationships with substances, or existential dread (perhaps all the above), you are not alone. My name is Andrew Linares, and I am a Colorado-based LPCC with a lifetime of service. I have a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling, and I provide sliding-scale, mindfulness-based, somatic, and trauma-informed therapy. If you feel called, schedule a free 15-minute phone -or- video consultation. carry the fire.
My clients are smart, self-aware people who've been managing a lot on their own for a long time — and they're tired. They want to stop overthinking everything, feel more solid in their relationships, and figure out who they actually are underneath the performance. A lot of them are queer, neurodivergent, or both, and they're done explaining the basics to their therapist. They want someone direct, who notices patterns, and who won't let them stay comfortable when they're ready for something different. I'm a clinical psychologist. I work with attachment, identity, and the ways people get stuck trying to hold it all together. My style is warm but direct — I'll give you real feedback, not just nod and reflect. We use what works, and go at the pace your nervous system can handle. If you want an authentic therapist who's honest with you, helps you build skills that work outside the room, and actually tracks whether things are getting better — reach out. We'll figure out what matters and go from there.
We work primarily with folks experiencing difficulty with ADHD or attention struggles, anxiety, PTSD, and depression. We use a brain map (qEEG) to measure baseline electrical activity, and then design an individualized protocol to then habituate more adaptive, efficient, and flexible brainwave patterns. Training occurs twice weekly for around 30-50 sessions.
Professional focus on adolescence as well as young adults with co-occurring diagnosis through a family systems lens. Supporting clients through their journey in gaining insight and clarity around the narrative they find themselves immersed in, and the potential of their true self. Providing parents context and perspective to recognize the influences of the family that may unintentionally reinforce their kid’s attitudes and behaviors.

I am a mindfulness and body-oriented therapist who specializes in various challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, eating disorders, substance abuse, and developmental issues. I believe that a deep dive into our more painful experiences is less frightening when done in the presence of a loving and non-judgmental therapist. I help people let go of fear and step into their full potential. Together, we will move through your trauma and pain from the past, unearth the parts of yourself that are no longer serving you, and create positive change and movement in your life from this point forward. I work to highlight the strengths and wisdom you already possess that have helped you get here to the present moment. We will practice patience with the parts of you that are still growing while infusing new habits and self-care routines in order to create forward momentum and help you rise into the highest version of yourself.
