Most people pursuing therapeutic services are managing symptoms including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and dealing with major life transitions; which all may be contributing symptoms to struggles that go deeper than the surface. These deeper challenges do not scare me, nor are they something that should scare you. Our bodies simply respond to experiences, and investigating these experiences through a compassionate lens is my goal with you in therapy. I strive to provide a safe and accepting environment in which all persons can explore their specific concerns in a confidential setting. My practice philosophy emphasizes non-judgemental methods that include IFS, TF-CBT, DBT, and relational approaches. I specialize in trauma recovery, religious trauma, gender identity exploration, purity culture, and asexuality. I also have experience with eating disorders, suicidal ideation, and autism. My clientele focus is primarily with adolescents and young adults of all genders. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and enthusiastically celebrate your personal path to discovering who your most authentic self truly is!

Hi, I'm Madeline! At the heart of my work is a deep belief in the power of authentic, meaningful human connection. From a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, I strive to meet each client exactly where they are, with empathy, gentle care, and acceptance. As a fellow creative, I love incorporating play, art, and expressive tools into the therapy process. With specialized training in play therapy and expressive arts approaches, enjoy using creative, personalized interventions to empower clients as they express themselves, explore and gain insight into emotions and experiences, and build on their unique strengths. I believe therapy should be a safe, developmentally appropriate space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I also value collaboration, partnering with families to offer helpful resources and build a strong support system rooted in trust that nurtures growth and healing. Before joining the team at Early Connections, I worked with children, teens, and young adults in a community mental health setting, offering individual and family counseling to those navigating anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, suicidal ideation, childhood trauma, school challenges, and adjustment. I’ve also supported undergraduate college students through social, emotional, and academic challenges in a university setting. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a research assistant, focusing on suicide prevention in vulnerable populations. These valuable experiences have all shaped my heart for this work. I’m especially passionate about supporting others through anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, trauma, grief and loss, and issues related to emotional regulation, identity, and self-worth. I earned my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Georgia, where I also studied Human Services and Human Development and Family Science. I received my Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. I am an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), working towards full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and pursuing my Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential. I’m also an active member of the American Counseling Association and Association for Play Therapy. As an Associate Professional Counselor, I will be working under the supervision of Lauren Brown, LPC, NCC, RPT-S, the owner of Early Connections Child and Family Counseling. Outside of the counseling space, I’m someone who recharges through creativity and connection. I enjoy a good art project, playing guitar, reading, exploring new coffee shops, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I’m so glad that you are here. I’d be honored to connect with you and walk alongside you on your journey!

Occasionally we all struggle to stay "on top" of things, or have a hard time keeping up with everything we need to do in a day. For some of us, it's a little more than that. It's constant scrolling through social media to give your brain a break, and that break turns into an hour. Or procrastinating simple tasks like finishing an assignment, or sending an email. Maybe you're having a hard time just waking up and getting out of bed in the morning. It's distressing to feel like you're struggling and not know how to fix it. If this sounds like you, just know: things can get better! Anxiety and depression don't have to rule your life. I'd love to work together with you on topics of general anxiety, self-confidence, identity issues, relationship issues, faith/religious questioning, perfectionism, and depression (and more!). As a CBT therapist, I help you identify areas of difficulty in your routine so we can build skills like self-awareness, coping mechanisms, and self-esteem. We are all learning how to do this thing called Life. And you can learn how to live happily and authentically! I aim to provide a calming space where we can slow down, and work together to better understand and accept the person that you are, and the person you want to be.
Anxiety, stress, fear, depression. All these words may describe the way you feel stuck right now, how do you get out? Making sense of our life experiences can be a little difficult for us, but I am here to help you find out what is getting in the way and what we can do about it. As a licensed and trained DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) Psychotherapist, I practice what I have found to be the most evidence based, effective, and personally meaningful approaches to help you exactly where you are, right now. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship/social issues, life transition, behavioral problems, suicidal or harmful thoughts, or bipolar or disordered personality traits, my practice is designed to provide relief and direction for your specific difficulties. I’m also here to help create the space for you to figure out what it means to be you, who you are, and who you want to be. Together, we can figure out the pieces. I welcome you to come, exactly as you are, right now, and we can move toward the person you want to be and the life you want to live. I look forward to meeting you, whether this is your first experience with counseling or if you are looking for a different approach. Whatever brings you to my office, we can do this together. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Georgia. I am also an engaged speaker at Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Georgia, and multiple organizations focused on providing mental health resources to college students and young adults. Additionally, I serve as a mental health liaison for most colleges and high schools in the Atlanta area and small group leader training in mental health awareness. As an LAPC, I receive my supervision from Marissa Mundy, LPC, CPCS. My additional trainings in Mindfulness Meditation, ACT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and CAMS enable me to work with clients of multiple faiths, backgrounds, and experiences.

Hello there! I am Abbie Becker (LMSW), a licensed psychotherapist specializing in DBT, RO-DBT, and CBT for adolescents and young adults. I work with clients that are seeking out services for individual, family, and group therapy. Whether you are new to therapy, ready to return, or wavering at the thought, I’m eager to connect – no matter where you are in life. Before we explore the fundamental question of “What brings you to therapy?”, I think it’s only reasonable for you to become acquainted with your potential therapist. I incorporate my values into practice by instilling authenticity, empathy, kindness, resiliency, and vulnerability. Originating in Metro Atlanta and raised on Georgia football, I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Georgia, while managing to find my way back to Atlanta for a master’s in clinical social work from Kennesaw State. On any given day, you can find me unapologetically jamming to music, scanning flight deals for my next place of travel, and expressing creativity through unfinished furniture flips, blank canvases, and original jewelry designs. I’m passionate about working with individuals who have challenges with anxiety, depression, mood instability, medical trauma, under-controlled and over-controlled traits, women’s health, belongingness, and self-esteem. With hundreds of relationships established across my diverse experiences with a human trafficking non-profit and three residential facilities - including Hillside, a nationally recognized treatment program - I consistently recognize that no one is too broken, hopeless, or unworthy of having a life that is worth living. The unpredictable elements of life can be overwhelming. At times, it feels like the sun may never rise. However, these are also the bittersweet moments that foster personal growth, and it would be my absolute privilege in guiding you to the warm light. I look forward to speaking with you - let’s see if I would be a good match for your needs! INSURANCE NOTE: I do take Aetna Student Health insurance, however I'm not a CORE provider (Tier 1). I am an In-network (Tier 2), preferred provider with Aetna, and Aetna Student Health Insurance will have a different rate/copy, &/or coinsurance amount for Tier 2 providers than for CORE providers. Although I may be able to explain potential differences in coverage, I encourage you to check your insurance benefits for the differences between in-and out-of-network providers and the difference between core and non-core providers, whether your deductible has been met, and the required copay/co-insurance information for the cost of the session prior to making an appointment.
I am passionate about helping young adults process their identity and emotions during life transitions and as they come into who they are. Clients leaving high school, graduating college, entering marriage or their first jobs often find that they are reevaluating what their values are and how their early childhood experiences have affected them. I enjoy working with clients as they walk through these parts of their story and come to understand themselves better.
