Hello, I'm Dr. Rick Van Haveren, a Licensed Psychologist of over 20 years. I have a unique practice where I integrate school/work, health/sport, and life goals. You might experience problems with your relationships. This can lead to difficulties at work, and over time contribute to health problems. Further, a student might struggle in school. The result can be a poor attitude at home, which can cause negative emotions and ineffective coping. The goal of my practice is for you to develop strategies for the best personal life, career, and health. Are you ready to maximize your potential? Visit my website today, www.performancephd.com. Life can shift in ways we never expected—whether from trauma, loss, relationship changes, or mounting anxiety. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like you're just trying to make it through each day. If you're a trauma survivor, have experienced sexual assault or abuse, or are navigating a major life transition, you're not alone—and healing is possible. I specialize in working with trauma survivors using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). These approaches help reduce distress, process painful memories, and build a sense of safety and control. I also support clients experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, and major life transitions. I work with individuals and with couples. Whether you're processing the past or managing the stress of the present, therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based care. If you're ready to begin, I invite you to call or email my office to schedule your first appointment. Let’s take that next step together!

Therapy is not about having all the answers — it’s about discovering them together. I believe therapy is a space where we get to be deeply human — messy, growing, curious, and real. My approach is collaborative and grounded in trust, compassion, and a genuine belief in your ability to heal and grow. I work with individuals navigating a range of challenges — whether it's anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck.
