Therapists for college students near 02155
I work with adults of all ages, and particularly enjoy helping college students struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and developmental issues that are prominent at this life stage. I provide a warm, collaborative environment within which I help my clients develop curiosity, self-compassion, and the courage to make important changes. I incorporate psychodynamic, relational, experiential/emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches in my interventions. I take an active approach to help my clients achieve their goals and resolve their problems. I see people in person in both my Wellesley Square and Coolidge Corner (Brookline) offices. I am also available for zoom sessions on a secure, end to end encrypted account.
Stephanie is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in treating adolescents and young adults. She has two undergraduate degrees, in Psychology and in Nursing as well as a masters degree in Nursing from Northeastern University. She began her nursing career in primary care at a pediatrician’s office as well as an inpatient child psychiatry unit. She has found that these experiences have helped sharpen her knowledge of normal vs. abnormal child development, working within the family unit, and has built her resources in the community. Stephanie has work experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in outpatient, inpatient and emergency room settings. She enjoys working closely with her patients and their families in treating their mental health concerns. Her practice is collaborative, encouraging her patients to be active participants in their care. She believes that medication is not the only answer and recommends that her patients are actively in therapy as well as seeking ways to lead healthy lifestyles.

I am a board-certified Harvard-trained psychiatrist who sees people more frequently than most psychiatrists for weekly therapy or for more complicated medication management like combined ADHD and GAD. I deliberately keep my practice small to devote individualized care to my patients and can be reached after business hours. If we work together, I strive to individualize your treatment to what works best for you. People often describe my style as down-to-earth, grounding, and warm. I have experience with management of mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder) and ADHD. Reach out if you want to work with someone who is personable and non-judgmental, but also willing to provide accountability and humor in order to accomplish your goals. As a psychiatrist, I can help with prescribing medications, therapy, obtaining or reviewing psychiatric diagnoses, or any combination of the above.
Sometimes, when people come to therapy, they’re looking for a solution to something that feels urgent or overwhelming. At other times, people can't put words to what's wrong, but they know that something that doesn't feel right. Whether you're looking for help with anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, or something else, my goal is to put our heads together to create a space where you feel truly heard and supported in order to find a way forward. I'm trained in English and Spanish in a variety of therapeutic modalities that range from meaning-oriented work and narrative therapy to behavioral techniques, but what's most important to me is that we come together and use pieces of any of those that will be helpful to the person that I'm sitting with. I have a few openings (in-person or virtually). Contact me for a 25-minute free consultation to see if my style would be helpful for you - or to possibly refer you to a colleague. Looking forward to being of service to you!
I enjoy exploring themes of sex positivity, healthy relationships, and body positivity with my clients. I am especially eager to work with couples (polyamorous and monogamous alike), queer and trans folks, the disabled and chronically ill community, and people working on body positivity/neutrality. I focus my practice on gender affirming care, relational dynamics and healing, healthy relationships, and harm reduction. If you are looking for an approachable and funny therapist, please reach out! I love working with people who are new to therapy and people who are therapy veterans.

I have over 30 years experience working clinically at MGH & in private practice and teaching at Harvard Medical School. Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship problems or an Eating Disorder? Stopping the repetition of dysfunctional behavior patterns can help you fulfill your life dreams personally, professionally and relationally. My patients and I work collaboratively to explore the roots of their symptoms and develop better coping strategies along the way. I am an interactive and relational therapist. I offer Individual, Couples & Group psychotherapy. Life transitions can be complicated and difficult. Whether the transition is to a change in relationship status, new city, new job, or new school, it is helpful to have a safe, private space to process overwhelming emotions that invariably arise. I see patients over zoom as well as face to face indoors and in an Outdoor Covid Compliant Office space. I am certified in Animal Assisted Therapy. I am a psychotherapist with 10+ years of experience providing individual therapy for adults and adolescents. I have training in most major therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, SFBT, trauma-informed treatment, etc.) and my clinical focus is on in-depth psychoanalytic therapy. People come to work with me when there is a problem—a symptom, a conflict, a traumatic experience—that interferes with their satisfaction in life. Common issues include anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and difficulty with love and sexuality. Psychoanalytic work aims at addressing the real causes of these problems, and can result in new ways of relating to yourself. Therapy begins with an invitation to speak freely. It is a unique opportunity to hear what our struggles are trying to say. The challenge of therapy is that there are no ready-made answers, but I find that with the right therapeutic environment, everyone can figure out what to do with their obstacles on their path. I look forward to speaking with you about working together. Feel free to get in touch by email or schedule a consultation on my helloalma.com profile. I am currently accepting new patients for telehealth and in-person sessions at my office in Brookline, and can provide services in both English and Mandarin. 我會使用中文進行心理治療, 歡迎與我聯繫!
I specialize in treating adolescents and college-aged students, millenials, as well as older adults with complex living issues. My job is to create a safe place where individuals and couples can explore current or long-standing problems and find realistic solutions. A significant part of this work involves carefully and mutually developing an appreciation of people's actual qualities and circumstances as the basis for realistic growth. I work with people in crisis or who sense they have patterns of living that could benefit from an experienced partner to help facilitate their desired change. I have received training in motivational interviewing, solutions focused therapy, trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, descriptive psychology-informed psychotherapy and I specialize in treating depression and other mood disorders, anxiety and panic related issues, ADHD and addictive disorders.
I really enjoy helping students navigate through their college experiences at all stages of college - from adjusting to being away from home for the first time to making and maintaining healthy relationships, and to making difficult decisions about which paths to take when their college experience comes to an end. In my practice I am experienced in treating students who have significant mental health concerns as well as students who are simply looking for some objective support to work through some transitions and day to day challenges.

Together, we create a safe and empowering space where clients can explore, heal, and thrive.
I offer IFS and EMDR therapy to empathetic, high-achieving women who struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, emotionally immature relationships, and cycles of trauma. My clients often find me when they can no longer manage the burden alone. They feel stuck in hurtful relationships, they lack trust in themselves, and they feel shame even when they know it’s not their fault. You deserve peace. My goal is to help you feel deeply connected to your values and intuition so you can break free from the cycles you’ve been stuck in and thrive as the most authentic version of yourself.
I work with adults who primarily struggle with memory and concentration problems related to ADHD, depression/anxiety, traumatic brain injury etc. in my practice in Boston. I have a structured, problem-solving approach to treatment that focuses on organization and practical skills to manage symptoms. However, each person I work with is different and therefore each treatment plan is tailored to them and their needs. For ADHD in particular, a combination of medications and therapy is the most effective in treating ADHD. Your sessions with me: 1. During your first session, I just want to get to know you better. From this initial session, I can provide you feedback about what is the primary cause of some of your attention/memory difficulties that impact your day to day abilities. 2. One focus would be to implement structure, and routine. I can help provide this external structure by helping you utilize a planner to schedule ahead and manage time, make realistic and reasonable goals to maximize success, and organize aspects of your life. I will also teach you practical memory strategies and ways you can easily retain information. 3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which involves changing negative thinking patterns and behaviors is also found to be effective in treating ADHD. CBT helps “slow down” your thinking so you can reflect on what prevents you from making those deadlines, reduce impulsive behaviors, and learn problem solving skills that can make a difference in work, school, and or personal relationships. 4. Mindfulness exercises involve paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and physiological sensations so you can be present in the moment. With practice, you can train you brain to sustain attention.
