We are a thriving DBT practice that works with teens and young adults to skillfully manage the strong emotions that they find overwhelming or interfere with their ability to function effectively in their lives. We offer group and individual therapy services. We would consider virtual (telehealth) services if a person has already had DBT and is seeking support to maintain gains. Another service we offer is psychological assessment, which is provided to help clarify mental health diagnoses, to learn more about what is getting in the way of treatment progress, or to take a deeper dive into how someone's personality is constructed. (This is different from neuropsych assessment.)

I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and interpersonal therapy — but more importantly, I meet you where you are. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. You’re the expert in your story, and we’ll work together to develop tools, process challenges, and celebrate growth, big or small. I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults managing academic pressure, identity concerns, anxiety, and trauma. I also offer comprehensive psychological assessments to help students access accommodations in college — like extended time or alternative testing settings.

You deserve to feel heard, understood, and valued for who you are as an individual! When we feel stuck and misunderstood, challenged by uncomfortable feelings, or we are struggling to navigate life, engaging in therapy allows us to understand what is contributing to each of these experiences. Being able to talk through these moments helps start us on a path toward feeling fulfilled and enlivened. Together, we will explore how your past and present experiences, your interpersonal relationships, and your learned coping strategies contributes to how you feel. I believe everyone can be a confident, strong, and thriving individual. I am warm, non-judgmental, and attentive. I strive to meet you where you are at, help you explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe space, and find ways to overcome the challenges you face. I believe in the power of conversation to help facilitate understanding and change. I work with adolescents and adults from all backgrounds. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. In addition to private practice, I am a Staff Psychologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School.

For anyone who has ever been accused of being too emotional, too sensitive, too wild; for anyone who doesn't fit into the boxes society has created for us; for anyone who has struggled to find their place in the world-- you are the kinds of clients I want to work with. I invite you to join me in an exploration of self, where you are the expert of your own life and I am your guide, supporting you on your path to becoming. With your consent, I will hold space for you and will be honored to be a witness to your growth. What does it mean to hold space? It means the way in which we connect, the way in which I help you to feel safe, knowing that I will accept and validate your feelings and experiences while still holding you accountable, but always with the utmost softness and tenderness. I will assist you in finding your voice- that is, learning how to identify and verbalize what you want and need for yourself and from others. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, which, as a queer therapist, is extremely important to me. I have a great deal of training and experience in unpacking and exploring different aspects of identity, primarily gender and sexuality. I am skilled in supporting individual clients as well as their families through these journeys.

My practice is based in Lexington, MA, where I provide both in-person and virtual treatment. I specialize in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, typically meeting more frequently to support deeper work. Therapy begins by reflecting on your experiences, with an effort to understand them rather than judge them. I take a compassionate approach to exploring your problems, your desire for change, and your difficulties in making changes. Through better understanding your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships, it may become possible to make more informed and meaningful choices. I am collaborative and flexible in my approach, looking for ways to work well together. I provide brief consultations for those seeking help thinking through specific challenges, gaining a professional perspective, or developing strategies for change. When people are struggling in their attempts to do things differently, I aim to help figure out what is getting in their way, a process that can take time but often leads to greater clarity. A therapeutic relationship with someone you trust can be an important path toward self-understanding and emotional relief. Because therapy is a deeply personal experience, it's important to find a therapist you feel comfortable working with. I welcome you to contact me if you're curious to see if this might be a good fit.

There are times when life brings us challenges and presents us with unexpected or difficult situations. We may not always feel in control over the events in our lives. Stress, anger, fear, anxiety, sadness can often become overwhelming. We may not know which way to turn for support or understand how to bring about the positive changes we’d like to see happen. Change is possible. You have taken the most important first step--reaching out--and I am here to work with you, making your goals realities. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) with over twenty years of experience working with individuals and families. My approach to counseling is non-judgmental, integrative, and collaborative. I work with you so that, together, we can meet your goals. Expressive Therapy is an important approach I use in therapy and it involves engaging in activities like drawing, storytelling, music, writing as part of the process towards a deeper understanding.
