ou are the expert in you. I am an expert in nutrition. Together we will understand how you eat, what you eat, and why you eat. You can make changes with support, guidance, and a safe environment.
I believe that therapy is a journey that takes place in a safe and collaborative space between therapist and client. Within that space, I use a warm, supportive, curious and empathic approach to guide our work as we look at current and past stressors that may be causing you to feel "stuck" in various aspects of your life. Together, we can work to identify your inner strengths and resources that will aid you in managing current stressors, work through past events, and move towards health and healing. Specializations include: PTSD/Complex PTSD, Anxiety/Stress, Dissociation, Attachment, Sexual Assault/Abuse, and relationship/adjustment challenges. I use an eclectic therapeutic approach that is geared towards meeting my clients' individual needs and is aimed at promoting growth, clarity, and overall well being. I have had training in the most advanced treatment of anxiety, stress and trauma including EMDR, Sensorimotor/body-based therapies, and attachment-based psychotherapies. I remain up-to-date with the most effective therapies to aid my clients in developing tools and skills to meet the challenges of everyday life. I understand that finding the right therapeutic fit is a process and appreciate the strength and courage it takes to reach out for support. I look forward to the opportunity to consult with you about your needs.
I work with college students who are adjusting to the transition and stressors of academic life. I enjoy working with college students who need support around balancing academic and athletics. I also work with students who are dealing with family and relationship (friendship or romantic) conflict.
My goal as a therapist is to create a warm, welcoming, safe space where you can explore the areas in which you feel stuck, anxious or overwhelmed. Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that serve you, as well as identify those that don’t. We can identify new options and help you make more empowered choices. Reaching out for help is a courageous act. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be your witness and to walk beside you as you begin your healing journey. When we feel safe enough to feel our feelings, we can begin to move through them, towards healing. I invite you to contact me for a free 15 minute consult to see if we are a good fit to work together.
As a therapist, I strive to bring warmth and wits into sessions with my patients. My role is to help people identify patterns that are causing trouble or distress. This process involves not only trying to understand the "root" of the problem, but also looking for ways in which individuals might get stuck in problematic ways of relating to others or thinking about themselves. This can be hard work, but it has the potential to be very rewarding. In my experience, people who engage in therapy often find that old patterns can change, and new choices are able to emerge in their lives. In my previous role as associate director of Boston University's Behavioral Medicine clinic, I worked with a diverse group of undergrad and graduate students. In my current practice, I work with adolescents and young adults who are struggling academically, or who are taking a leave of absence from college or grad school due to mental health concerns. I also have interests in depression, anxiety, parenting, postpartum depression/anxiety, and spiritual issues. But really, I like working with anyone striving for an examined life. I am not in-network with any insurance plans, but you may be able to use out of network benefits to help pay for the cost of therapy.
Founded in 2018 by Cindy Faria, LICSW and inspired by the quote, "If you cannot change the wind, adjust your sails", our company embodies the belief that life's journey toward healthy relationships, joy, purpose, and more should not be navigated alone. We specialize in supporting individuals with anxiety/mood concerns, helping navigate and improve intimate and family relationships, guiding through life transitions, and caring for those suffering from issues rooted in systemic racial oppression, socioeconomic barriers, LGBTQIA+ concerns, cultural/spiritual differences, and more. However, please know that our doors are open to all individuals seeking therapeutic support.

I enjoy helping clients engage in self-exploration so they can stop struggling and start living the life they want to live. My specialties include mood and anxiety disorders, relationship issues, and difficult life transitions. I particularly enjoy working with college students, student-athletes, and young adults. My therapeutic approach is integrative, incorporating cognitive-behavioral, relational, and mindfulness-based approaches. I utilize warmth and authenticity to create a safe, non-judgmental environment. Emphasizing total well being, I help clients to examine the connection between mental and physical health and to build adaptive coping skills to live healthier lives. I also provide career counseling for those who are confused about their career path, having difficulty selecting a college major, or who feel unfulfilled in their jobs. Applying evidenced-based assessments and career development theory, this time-limited service provides insight into fitting careers based on one's interests, values, personality style, and skills.

I help my clients to eat better, sleep better and feel better by making small habit shifts that lead to positive results in health, energy, focus, mood, and relationships. Working with me will feel more like coaching where you will get doable next steps to take rather than being analyzed by a silent therapist. The therapy session is a time and space one sets aside to focus on self. To be with self. And to build one’s self. It can be challenging to reflect on patterns, thoughts and emotions, relationships, past events and/or change, but it can also be transformative and rewarding. My role as your therapist is to witness your process and to reflect back with you along the way. The therapeutic relationship is an essential piece of my practice and is built on honesty, trust, empathy, and compassion. In conjunction with traditional psychotherapeutic frameworks (CBT, DBT, Gestalt, Psychodynamic), I use Expressive Arts Therapy (Movement, Drama, Music/Sound, Art) to help foster a creative process. When applied therapeutically, a creative process can help a person heal, open up to change, and may offer new feelings, thoughts, insights, and perspectives As a Dance/Movement Therapist, I specialize in using movement as a tool to identify, explore, and shift the way one relates to self, other, and the world around. I believe engaging in an integrative, body based psychotherapy process is a direct and effective path to embodied growth and transformation.
I help young adults dealing with trauma, mood issues, life transitions, and big questions about identity and purpose. My work focuses on how your personal experiences, family history, and social environment impact your mental health. I specialize in healing intergenerational trauma and mood disorders, using a culturally sensitive, relational approach. What sets me apart is integrating spirituality and liberation psychology into therapy. If you're open to it, we can explore spiritual practices and work to critically examine beliefs and systems. If you feel we could be a good fit, reach out for a consultation—I'm here to support.
OFFERING VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS... Sometimes the roads we chose to traverse become less easy to navigate as situations change, circumstances reach beyond our control, or life simply needs some readjusting to get back on track. I strive to provide individual clients and couples with a vehicle to discover the answers that they seek about themselves and their relationships. I help clients learn the tools they need to navigate the road on their own, and find the healing that they desire. My goal as a therapist is to foster a genuine and welcoming environment that facilitates a safe space for clients to experience personal growth and positive change. I work with adults, college age students, and their families. I specialize in relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
I am a licensed therapist with 14 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and trauma. Many of the people I work with find themselves stuck in cycles of procrastination and harsh self-criticism, which can make it difficult to feel present or engaged in their daily lives. My approach combines traditional talk therapy with somatic, mind-body techniques that support nervous system regulation and help calm stress stored in the body. Together, we work to create more space for clarity, self-compassion, and meaningful change.
I provide therapy to adolescents and young adults. We can work together to address the stressors in your life and improve your overall wellbeing. Whether you want to address symptoms of depression or anxiety, work on self-esteem, relationship stress, family issues, improve performance in sport, or would benefit from support during a life transition, I want to provide you with a supportive space. My approach to therapy is collaborative and flexible. I most often utilize cognitive behavioral tools and a strength-based approach in my work. I try to provide a warm and engaging environment that will meet you where you are, while also knowing that sometimes we all need to be challenged in order to grow. It can be hard and intimidating to take the next step in your mental health journey, but you deserve to feel better and I would like to see if I can help you do that. Let's connect to see if we would be a good match.
Having worked in both academic and corporate environments, my current work as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner has evolved from observing students’ and colleagues’ challenges and successes and their relationship to emotional health and ability to focus on daily and long-term goals. As a result of my Yale, Duke, Tufts and MGH psychiatric training, I’ve honed my observations into effective working theories about the biopsychosocial factors that influence peoples’ vitality and well-being. If you're currently struggling with academic, professional or emotional obstacles, I believe I can help. My practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of multiple mental health conditions including: ADHD, ANXIETY and DEPRESSION with a focus on compassionate, culturally sensitive, SUPPORTIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY and MEDICATION MANAGEMENT for adolescents and adults. If you’re struggling with a mental health condition and need help with medication management, or simply want assistance with improving your mental well-being, please contact me for a private consultation. Initial appointments last about an hour with follow-ups taking less time. If you’d like to discuss living a more balanced life, please give me a call.
