Hello! Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or have been in therapy before, I welcome you here. I would also like to recognize your courage and self-awareness for seeking help. College is a unique time in that lots of changes are happening. Perhaps you are feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, or unsure how to proceed; maybe you’re experiencing big transitions in school, relationships, or your sense of self in the world. In my practice, I use a mixture of talk psychotherapy and expressive therapies to help you address these big changes, to know and release emotions in a variety of ways so that you are able to effectively cope when things get hard. We may utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy to help address and change negative thoughts that are holding you back, and trauma-informed practices to help heal emotional wounds. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach to counseling so that you feel empowered, confident, and fully supported in our therapeutic work together. I became a therapist because I don’t ever want people to feel they need to weather the storm alone. You deserve care, compassion, validation, and encouragement to keep going. Thank you for considering me a trusted ally in your journey to greater well-being.

I am a therapist with over 30 years of experience working with teens and adults at all stages in life. My professional goal is to develop the highest quality relationship with each client, while using a variety of specific techniques that are tailored to each person's needs. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to be able to talk about difficult feelings and experiences, and come up with effective coping skills. Clients who come seeking help from me generally feel stuck in some area of their lives. They often feel depressed and anxious. They may be struggling at school, having problems in relationships, and may be trying to discover their place in the world. Through insight, thoughtful exploration, and a collaborative effort to identify and change problematic behaviors, my clients find relief from their symptoms, grow beyond the limitations they have felt restricted by, and experience a stronger sense of self in the world.

I help people navigate life transitions (chosen or unchosen), grief/loss, unresolved trauma, family dysfunction and more. Therapy is tailored to each client and I draw from a variety of theoretical perspectives (insight-oriented, development of skills, relational). I am also a trauma-informed therapist with specialty training in the treatment of trauma and its impact on an individual's well-being and ability to cope. PMHNP stands for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a nurse practitioner specializing in the treatment of common mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, and mood disorders. I prescribe medication when it is clinically appropriate, as it can be an essential component of a comprehensive treatment plan for many mental health conditions. My approach emphasizes collaboration and informed consent. Any medication decisions are made together, ensuring the patient feels comfortable and supported in his/her/their care. Once prescribed, medications are carefully monitored and adjusted as needed to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Rather than focusing only on symptom management, I take a functional, root-cause approach to understanding each person’s presentation. I am currently completing a functional medicine fellowship to deepen this work, and integrate these principles into my care. This includes using lab testing to uncover underlying imbalances, supporting wellness through nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle, and incorporating nutraceuticals or supplements when appropriate to promote lasting improvement.
