Therapists for college students near Harvard University
The treatment I provide is influenced by relational, attachment-based, and psychodynamic modalities. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity concerns, trauma, and stress related to work and relationships. I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds to address their presenting symptoms, as well as explore the underlying roots of these symptoms to establish long-term benefits. I believe therapy is most effective when there is a trusting and open therapeutic relationship, so we will work together to identify a meaningful approach to your care. I’m experienced in working with culturally diverse and LGBTQ populations. Prior to earning my degree in counseling, I worked with LGBTQ youth and young adults in the Boston community at a nonprofit organization dedicated to health education. I understand how difficult it can be to find a good match in therapy, I encourage you to contact me for an initial phone call, and we can discuss how we might work together.
Marc is a seasoned clinician who uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in his work with clients. CBT focuses on exploring relationships among a person's thoughts, feelings and behaviors. During CBT Marc actively works with clients to uncover unhealthy patterns of thought and how they may be causing self-destructive behaviors and beliefs. By addressing these patterns, the client and Marc work together to develop constructive ways of thinking that will produce healthier behaviors and beliefs. For instance, CBT can help clients replace thoughts that lead to low self-esteem ("I can't do anything right") with positive expectations ("I can do this most of the time, based on my prior experiences"). The core principles of CBT are identifying negative or false beliefs and testing or restructuring them. Oftentimes clients being treated with CBT will have homework in between sessions where they practice replacing negative thoughts with more realistic thoughts based on prior experiences or record their negative thoughts in a journal. Studies of CBT have shown it to be an effective treatment for a wide variety of mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, eating disorders and schizophrenia. Individuals who undergo CBT show changes in brain activity, suggesting that this therapy actually improves your brain functioning as well. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has a considerable amount of scientific data supporting its use.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth and I'm so glad you're here! Therapy doesn't have to be stiff or serious all the time. In fact, I believe feeling comfortable enough to be your full, unfiltered self– including laughing, swearing, crying, or just sitting quietly– is where the real work happens. I use humor, compassion, & a deep respect for your lived experience to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are. A big part of my work is helping folks build a better relationship with their bodies- whether you're fat, thin, in between, transitioning, aging, disabled, or just feeling disconnected from yourself. I work with people of all ages! I am trained in EMDR and also pull from modalities like CBT, DBT, and IFS. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; you’re not a checklist, you're a complex, layered person. I approach body image through the lens of fat acceptance and body liberation. Together we can explore what it means to live in your body without shame, pressure, or apology. Therapy with me is collaborative, affirming, and shaped by your needs, goals, and pace. As a queer person myself, I understand the importance of feeling seen, safe, & understood. If you're looking for a therapist who can hold the hard stuff, laugh with you through the weird stuff, and support you in building a life that actually feels like yours- let’s talk!

We all want to be happy. More specifically, most people want to feel effective and confident, especially when it comes to relationships. We want to feel included, appreciated, and loved. Sometimes these things may seem out of reach, or you may be struggling with other challenges that leave you feeling stuck, discouraged, or helpless. Seeking support from someone with expertise relating to the human experience may be just what you need to feel more empowered and in control of your life. I am a clinical psychologist in private practice, providing behavioral health services to individuals, families, and groups in the Greater Boston area. One of the great promises of therapy is that even when we don’t know exactly what we need or know how to feel better, if we lean in with curiosity and compassion- and stay committed- we can learn to turn toward ourselves and each other with empathy, begin to build healthier relationships, and ride waves of emotions like a pro surfer. I believe we all have the capacity to grow and reach greater levels of understanding along happiness in life. I think the best way to get there is through a meaningful connection that is created in a safe environment where we can express our authentic needs. I often support clients with experiences like stress, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, bipolar, ADHD, and autism. I have been trained in various clinical techniques in Europe, including schema therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. My approach is integrative and tailored to your unique goals and needs. Growing up outside the US, I also bring a cross-cultural perspective that deepens my understanding of the challenges people from diverse backgrounds might face. I empower my clients to gain insights into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that they can make meaningful changes in their lives. Reach out if you're curious about working together!

My style is direct, interactive, supportive and compassionate. I particularly enjoy working with older adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficult and challenging transitions in their lives. I have found that some people seek counseling for short term solutions, while others are seeking a longer, deeper, transformative experience. Some goals I have helped my patients achieve include: overcoming inhibitions about relationships or career, becoming better self-advocates, managing stressful life transitions, exercising more control over choices and actions, and mourning the loss of a loved one/significant relationship. I often use CBT, DBT, and ERP to help clients maximize functioning.
Chronic stress is not a requirement for success at work, at school or in relationships. If you are feeling depressed, anxious, or isolated, and/or coping with unhealthy habits, regaining balance is possible. Even the healthiest individuals can struggle to maintain physical, mental, and emotional balance in our high-tech, high-stress culture. In a judgment-free and solution-focused environment, we will work together to help you find more life satisfaction and confidence. I use only evidence-based, reliable practices in a safe, comfortable environment to help you feel better about your life direction.
