You are enough. Creating or adjusting relationships can be based on authentic self-expression, free from fear of negative judgment. Support offered addresses assertiveness/conflict resolution skills, college student adjustment to adulthood, major life or career decisions, self-esteem, mood irritability, and unresolved childhood trauma. You can expect a welcoming atmosphere to address these and similar concerns, and feedback to develop coping skills and identify resources to progress in your stated mental health goals. I work with adults online individually and in person for groups. I specialize in the use of EMDR, Somatic Psychotherapy, DBT, CBT, and or Solution Focused Brief Therapy for the unique needs of each client to address posttraumatic stress, life transitions, relationship issues, and anxiety symptoms that interfere with completing responsibilities or interests. I have been in the social work and mental health field for over 25 years. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults. My goal is to provide clients with a safe environment that we can work together to reach their goals and decrease their stressors. I utilize different modalities including but not limited to CBT and Motivational interviewing. Treatment and our sessions are based on each individual’s needs, goals and comfort level.
I utilize evidence-based practices (EBP) to ensure the most effective and beneficial outcomes for clients. EBP involves integrating best research evidence with clinical expertise and client values to make informed decisions about treatment plans. For example, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety is an evidence-based approach, as research supports its effectiveness in alleviating anxiety symptom. I have an extensive history treating individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc working in the private sector, VA, state facilities and other government agencies .
I provide a warm and welcoming presence in sessions, allowing clients to relax and speak freely. I have a wholistic approach to counseling, recognizing the connections between mental, physical, relational, emotional, and spiritual health. Clients often come to me when they are experiencing times of transition in their lives (marriage, break-ups, pregnancy, motherhood, fatherhood, college, graduation, the death of a loved one, etc.). I enjoy helping clients process these changes and move towards clarity and calm. Change affects everyone in different ways, and it is important to recognize your own style of processing in order to heal. I work hard to create a space for your soul, the unique person you are to grow, to change, and most importantly to heal so that you can move into the next season with hope and the tools to handle whatever that season brings.
You may be experiencing stress from a difficult adjustment or transition, adapting to college life, struggling with anxiety or depression, grief from the loss of a parent or loved one, going through the pain and loss of miscarriage or grief following an abortion. You may be on the autism spectrum, or the parents of a student who is. You may just need an objective and confidential professional counselor to talk to about relationship struggles. You may be feeling discouraged and alone, needing hope! You have made the courageous first step toward healing and growth by looking for a counselor. It would be an honor to walk with you on your journey toward becoming the person you want to be!
I believe that healing happens through genuine connection and collaboration, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and valued. I take a person-centered approach to therapy, where we work at your pace and with your goals and voice at the forefront, taking practical steps toward the life you deserve. I work with individual adults and teenagers (14+) who are navigating life’s inevitable challenges in an open and honest way, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, confidence and identity challenges, and stress or burnout related to school, work, or major life transitions.

Welcome! We help people help themselves to live a more full and whole life, void of medicating and suffering in isolation. We meet our clients where they are and invite them to learn and create what recovery means to them.
