My clinical approach is multi-disciplinary and rooted in psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, and humanistic psychology. I also have a background in integrative health and wellness, which can contribute to a more in-depth perspective on treatment. In addition, my work is relational and informed by the belief and the research that the essence of therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist. It is this relationship that can encourage true and thorough transformation. My style is genuine, collaborative, interpersonal, direct, and non-judgemental, and I encourage clients to be true to themselves and transparent. Although treatment is based on an individual's needs and goals, primary objectives in treatment are to help clients (re)connect to their confidence and curiosity and to reinforce their capacity and resiliency.

I use integrative approaches to address a variety of counseling needs. My therapy style is interpersonal, relational and emotion-focused. I work towards helping my clients identify what their goals and motivations are, and collaboratively develop specific strategies and interventions that can help them achieve their goals. I have extensive experience working with relational concerns, trauma, self-esteem concerns, identity development and mood disorders. Therapy is an important investment in yourself and can be incredibly rewarding. I encourage my clients to be open, help identify their motivations to create change, and work on identifying steps to take between sessions that will help overcome barriers to emotional well-being. All aspects of you are important and I welcome people from all walks of life. I want to help you improve your relationships, achieve greater satisfaction in your life, and to channel your energy into accomplishing the goals that are important to you. I want to help you develop a stronger sense of self-compassion, greater self-confidence, and to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression and other emotional concerns.

What do you do when what everyone calls "the best years of your life' just aren't?? The transition from home to college is an exciting one, but one that brings with it many new experiences...leaving home (sometimes for the first time), living more independently, meeting a whole world of new people, and learning more about yourself...your strengths and weaknesses. As a college student you often face adversities such as a lack of stability, increased social and pressures, and a strong push towards academic hyper-achievement. Together with familial and social (media) pressure college students often experience changes in sleep, eating and energy patterns, irritability, a loss of interest in activities previously enjoyed, and substance abuse. Knowing when you need support, and taking the initiative to actually get that help is an important first step in figuring things out. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, homesickness, finding your people or just trying to figure yourself out I hope that I can help.

Humor is something I like to incorporate into therapy; however, we can be serious about your concerns too. People of all ages struggle with human suffering and sometimes you need someone to walk with you through that, whether it be something you wish to change or something that you cannot. I aim to help my clients make meaning in life while also identifying the connections between our individual concerns and larger systems in life. I provide individual therapy for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma, with specialized experience supporting people through grief, traumatic loss, and substance use concerns. My clients have expressed appreciation for my ability to sit with them in their suffering, when they have felt most alone. I have multiple years of experience previously working in college counseling centers. During these experiences, I supported students from a variety of backgrounds and found a lot of joy in helping students at a unique intersection in their lives. I have been lucky to work with a diverse student population and have supported many queer and trans students in exploring their gender and sexual identities while also addressing other mental health concerns. In addition, I was able to support BIPOC students as they addressed systemic issues within the university, while also exploring their individual racial identities. I further co-facilitated a family-trauma group during my time at a university counseling center. Thus, I find that I greatly appreciate being able to sit with students who are addressing these concerns. I am a Psychologist Resident in OR. I have my doctorate and five years of experience providing therapy, however, to become licensed in OR I must complete a supervised residency. I am supervised by Dr. Carrie McMullin (OR 2963). Starting therapy can feel intimidating, whether it's your first time or you're looking for something different than what you've tried before. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or simply ready for something to change — especially in the middle of the demands of student life, work, or both. I've worked in mental health since 2000, with over 25 years of experience with adolescents, young adults, and adults. I'm licensed in Oregon, Washington, and Colorado, and I see clients through secure telehealth. I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, chronic illness, relationship concerns, burnout, and major life transitions. I have particular experience with college and graduate students, helping professionals, and people navigating the emotional weight of chronic or invisible illness. My approach is collaborative and active. Insight matters, but understanding why a pattern exists doesn't always change how it feels — so alongside talking, we work toward new emotional, relational, and nervous-system experiences that let change happen on a deeper level. I draw on attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and approaches like Somatic Experiencing, AEDP, IFS, and EMDR, depending on what fits you. Some sessions focus on practical strategies and current challenges. Others slow down to explore what's happening underneath. We'll find the pace that actually helps.

My work is to walk with people in liberatory practices that allow us to return home to ourselves, our communities, and our place in this world. I aim to embody an orientation toward collective liberation. The mental health industry is deeply influenced by white supremacy, capitalism, and colonialism. As a white, queer, gender-resistant, liberation-oriented therapist, I aim to disrupt and dismantle those oppressive systems as they exist within me and in the larger society. I incorporate decolonial, abolitionist, and transformative justice frameworks into our work as we meet one-on-one or in many relational configurations. In addressing the overwhelming effects of systemic inequities and intergenerational traumas, our work together explores how oppressions and intergenerational traumas factor into one’s lived experiences and understandings. This includes the ways that these experiences manifest in our lives as anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns we carry.

Hello! I work with a focus helping women and college students who are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationships, and questions about identity, direction, and self worth. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of their next steps, and are looking for a space where they can slow down, reflect, and feel supported while figuring things out. Clients often seek therapy to work through anxiety, sadness, self esteem challenges, relationship concerns, friendship or roommate difficulties, adjusting to college life, family stress, questions about purpose or direction, and experiences of loss or trauma. I approach therapy from a compassionate and validating perspective. My goal is to meet you where you are and work collaboratively as a team as we explore patterns, insights, and possibilities for change. We can start small and move at a pace that feels comfortable, focusing on what progress means to you and what you hope to gain from the therapy process. Because each person's experience is different, therapy is always tailored to your unique needs. My work integrates several therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and relational perspectives. Together we may explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships, including how past experiences and relational/family dynamics can shape the way we see ourselves and interact with others. I also incorporate narrative and mindfulness-based practices to help clients develop greater self-awareness and create more compassionate and empowering ways of understanding their experiences. In therapy, I often help people identify their strengths and internal resources while reconnecting with themselves and their sense of purpose. Over time, many clients find they are better able to navigate challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and self-trust. The process takes time and often involves learning, reflection, exploration, and sometimes trial and error, but you won't be doing it alone. One of the things I love most about my work is celebrating the wins and "aha" moments while also providing support during the more difficult times. I value curiosity, encouragement, and creating a space where people feel safe to be fully themselves. Many people spend a lot of time alone with their their thoughts or emotions-or trying to avoid them altogether. Therapy can be an opportunity to slow down, step back from the noise of everyday life, and tune into your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with the support of another attuned caring person. Growth is rarely linear or quick, but meaningful change often happens through patience, reflection, and intention. My office is a calm and welcoming space with beautiful natural light, enjoyable views, and a complimentary tea bar. My style is relaxed, warm and human. I aim to balance professionalism with authenticity, and I believe therapy works best when people feel comfortable enough to show up as themselves. My office is located approximately two miles from the University of Oregon, with nearby parking, bike racks, and bus routes. The office is located up a few flights of stairs. I also offer telehealth sessions. If you're curious about whether we might be a good fit, I'd be happy to connect and talk more about what you're hoping for from therapy.

Many of my clients come to me with emotional wounds. They often felt invisible, rejected, devalued, or deeply hurt by others. They learned to adapt to the unsupportive environment by judging themselves, tensing up, trying to control everything, disconnecting from themselves, numbing their feelings, not trusting others, hiding, or trying to please everyone. As time goes by, these strategies stop working and become symptoms we label as depression, anxiety, disordered eating, substance use, PTSD, self-harm, etc. I work with clients to break free from the past and live life in the way they want. I offer a safe space where clients feel seen, accepted and empowered. I collaborate with clients to set goals and identify/build on their strengths. I use body-based therapies (EMDR, SP, Mindfulness, etc) to help clients resolve past trauma. I incorporate ACT and DBT to help clients manage stressors more effectively and live more meaningful/fulfilling lives. As a BIPOC psychologist and bilingual immigrant, I have extensive experience serving clients with marginalized identities. I show curiosity and respect to client’s lived experiences related to their identities and feel honored to be able to support clients in breaking barriers and living up to their full potentials. If any of these speak to you, let’s chat!

The foundation of counseling is a nonjudgmental, empathetic, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. My first goal is to create a safe and accepting relational space where my clients can be their true selves and explore their emotions and experiences. I tailor treatment to the needs of each client, drawing on several different approaches, including AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy). Depending on the goals of my clients, I help them process past trauma, work through difficult emotions, address anxiety, and arrive at what attitude they want to adopt towards their struggles. AEDP is my primary approach to counseling, and I receive ongoing training in it. It is particularly well suited to processing past trauma. It is attachment based, meaning we look at the impact of past childhood relationships. I am also helping my clients raise their awareness of their bodies and increase their ability to both access and regulate emotions. I earned a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Walden University in February of 2024. I have been working at Empowering Choices Counseling and Consultation as a counseling associate since the summer of 2024. My previous professional experience includes working as a treatment aide with youth and men at a residential addiction treatment program and a nine-month counseling internship I did at Empowering Choices as part of my master’s program. I work with adults of all ages, specializing in helping people work through trauma, depression, and anxiety. Over time, the counseling journey can help you process difficult emotions, heal from trauma, find inner strength, and gain clarity on life. Like other vehicles of personal growth, counseling involves challenging yourself in new ways, but an empathetic, non-judgmental, and encouraging guide can provide the support and safety needed to navigate the challenges.

Specialties: Anxiety, Autism, Psychosis, life transitions. Telehealth only for individuals who have PacificSource Health ins. My therapeutic philosophy is that it is very possible, with the right kind of support, to recover from most mental health and life challenges. Let’s have a discussion about what you want to achieve, and we can come up with a plan that will help you live your best life. I treat the people I work with as "people first," rather than labels, cases, or subjects. Since I have been involved with healing work, the definitions for "disorders" has continually changed. Because I believe in the absolute and intrinsic beauty and worth of human beings, I'm more likely to frame something as a challenge or a difficulty than as disorder. One of the nicest things about having been involved in this work for so long is that I've had the privilege to watch people change profoundly when they get the support and encouragement they need. If you work with me, we will spend time reframing whatever "disorder" you believe you have to make your work more precise.

Any of us, from adults to very young children, can experience life challenges that require the caring support of other people. Sometimes we need help to navigate these challenges, and to heal, reorient, and move forward in our lives toward better health and wholeness. When the emotional support of friends and family is not enough, establishing a safe, collaborative relationship with a psychotherapist can be a valuable resource. I enjoy working with students who are ready to access support and guidance in order to address the social-emotional or mental health challenges that are holding them back; the changes and healing they are seeking in their relationships with parents, other family members, friends and/or partners; and clarification of needs, wants and life goals.
