Hello and welcome! I am thankful you are here and certainly understand the overwhelm that can happen when reading through profiles. Please, don't hesitate to request a consultation meeting over phone or video. I'm happy to answer any questions to assist you in discovering if we may be a good fit in working together. Over the past 9 years, I have worked closely with adolescents, adults, and families while facing many of life's challenges as well as struggles with mental health. Folks often work with me through difficult life transitions, family or relationship issues, personal insecurities, and body image concerns. I have spent a significant time enhancing my education and experience supporting folks with recovery from trauma in all its forms, stress and anxiety, as well as mood disturbances, emotional distress, and depression. Additionally, I compassionately support people navigating troublesome experiences with substance misuse. My clients and I often focus on developing a trusting relationship that emphasizes open, honest communication within a non-judgmental, laid back environment. Together we identify the areas of growth and healing that best suit their unique needs and work collaboratively to recognize personal strengths, build skills and knowledge, and foster a strong support network. My approach to therapy is relaxed and casual, while promoting a flexible and adaptive experience that aligns with each individual. All of my services are through phone and video sessions. My schedule can be flexible so feel free to ask about additional availability. I am currently based in Pennsylvania, However, I am licensed to work with people in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina, as I was living in Western NC for 12 years prior to moving back to my home state of PA. I am in network with insurance providers in both PA and NC. Additionally, I offer sliding scale discount options through the Open Path Collective. Please visit https://openpathcollective.org/ to learn more. Please reach out via call/text/email to schedule a free consultation call to see if we are a good fit!

Although we cannot change our past, we can acknowledge its impact. We can change how we view our past and ourselves. While working with clients, I encourage expression to gain self-awareness and to reshape narratives. Expression is essential in everyday life, especially when working through difficult times, such as grief and trauma. I practice therapy with a person-centered, trauma-informed, strength based approach to meet clients where they are and to help them make changes to start the healing process. For some clients, verbal expression can be difficult. Creative expression can demonstrate one’s thoughts and feelings in a tangible way. Art Therapy can be helpful in exploring one’s thoughts and feelings and fostering self-awareness. As an Art Therapist, I have the ability and knowledge to bring artmaking into the therapy session and to help facilitate the healing process. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC). I have many years of experience helping people with trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, body image, self-esteem, and addiction. I have experience practicing therapeutic techniques of Trauma Informed Care, CBT, DBT, and MI, as well as Crisis Intervention. I am available for in person sessions, as well as telehealth/virtual sessions.

I believe in the inherent worth of everyone and that people genuinely do the best they can. We all experience joys and sorrows that can impact our daily functioning. Sometimes these experiences can make us feel "stuck," but we have the power to choose how we respond. Since learning never ends, we will discuss improving your self-awareness and build your "tool box" with strategies to empower you in everyday life. A caring atmosphere will be provided to help you discover your strengths, show yourself compassion, and to find balance in your life. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, abilities, and ages. Together, we'll build a tool box, so that you're better able to deal with situations that may cause discomfort. An eclectic and solution-focused approach to counseling is used. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness approaches are used as well. As we work together, we'll discuss ways to help improve your quality of life. I enjoy helping adults dealing with mental health changes, students with disabilities, individuals struggling with transitional issues (e.g. new diagnoses, elderly parents, veganism), career counseling, grief, pet loss, and how nutrition impacts mental health. If you are interested in learning what openings are available, please call 412-354-0636 Thank you, Megan

I worked in university counseling centers for over 10 years before transitioning to full-time private practice, and really enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students. College and graduate school is often a time to better understand and define who you are and what does and does not work for you and for promoting your wellbeing. As a psychologist, I work to help clients understand themselves better in the unique context and experiences of their own lives so as to figure out what each individual needs to be well, which may be very different than what you think you should need to be well. I also work to help clients not only manage their symptoms and distress, but also understand the root causes of their symptoms and distress. I believe that this deeper understanding can often lead to transformative healing.

Hi, I’m Kiara, I’m the therapist behind Lunar Counseling! I work with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, and trauma. Too many people are stuck in a cycle of distress without truly resolving anything. This leaves many feeling detached, numb, and uncertain about their future. I believe most mental health challenges can be addressed through effective therapy and by developing healthy coping skills. BUT, that can be so hard to do on your own. I have found for many individuals, having a therapist to talk through issues can be a gamechanger for their mental health. So, I use my seven years of therapy experience to guide people just like you as you work through your mental health challenges and regain control of your life. To get started, your next step is to schedule a 15-min phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. You don’t have to let things get worse or stay feeling numb and overwhelmed. I can help guide you as you overcome your challenges and get back to feeling like yourself again.

If you’re a high-achieving student who looks “fine” on the outside but feels overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted on the inside, you’re not alone. The pressure to perform academically, have a thriving social life, and figure out your future (all at the same time!) can quietly take a toll on your mental health. As a licensed mental health counselor, I help driven college students build lifelong coping skills and find balance—without pushing themselves harder or burning out. Together we can work to identify what you would like to be different in your life, and make a clear plan to help you get there. By the way - I'm also a certified career counselor, so if landing internships or planning life beyond college is stressing you out, I can help you there too. If you’re looking for therapy that’s down-to-earth, compassionate, and focused on helping you actually enjoy your college experience instead of just pushing through, let's connect! I offer a free 30 minute consultation call to see if we're a good fit before we start working together.

I love working with clients who want to better themselves. Whether it be understanding yourself or your identity, conquering anxiety, or working through relationships, I partner with clients to reach their goals and set themselves up for success. Some mental health concerns that I can help with include: ADHD, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions, identity (including LGBT, religion, and others), imposter syndrome, and more. Clients can expect a younger therapist who isn’t afraid to use humor and who isn’t afraid to call out potential stuck points. I am also culturally competent and offer services in both English and Spanish.

I welcome teens and adults to my practice. There are many reasons that lead to the decision to seek therapy, and I believe in meeting you where you are in this process. Empathy, compassion, and patience are the foundation of my practice. I believe in utilizing the power of the therapeutic relationship in combination with a variety of evidence based practices to empower clients to learn the tools they need to work towards their goals. I use mindfulness based practices, calling on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help individuals better understand themselves and develop strategies to navigate life's stressors. I have experience working with individuals with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, and chronic health conditions. I have specialized training working with college students as well as individuals with histories of trauma and relational challenges.
