Therapists for college students near Philadelphia, PA
Are you looking to break a cycle that has been playing out in your life on repeat? βAre you interested in changing your patterns of behavior in relationships with others, and finding a way to do something new? I am here to listen, to be on your team, and to support you as you cultivate the insights that will help you to access your wisest self. I believe that change is made possible by developing true self-compassion and self-acceptance. Though healing work can be hard and messy, I know that it can also be creative, enlivening, and a source of real hope. I bring ten years of experience as a therapist, deep curiosity about YOU and your story, fifteen years of mindfulness and meditation practice, and comfort supporting people through a multitude of life's challenges with warmth and humor. My work is deeply trauma-informed and is influenced by my training in EDMR, IFS, attachment theory, and somatic awareness. Therapy is an opportunity to have a dedicated space that is focused solely on you, and is guided by your goals and needs. We will work together to ensure that this weekly time that you are carving out is fruitful for you. I invite you to learn more about me at my website and to schedule a free call with me at www.calendly.com/nomiteutsch. Let's talk!
Hi, I'm Matt Sosnowsky, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) based in Center City Philadelphia. I work with adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s β including a lot of people who are navigating the transition from college into "real life," or who are a few years in and finding that things feel harder than they expected. My clients are often high-functioning: they're doing well by most measures, but something underneath is off β anxiety that won't quit, a low-grade depression they can't shake, relationships that aren't working, or a nagging sense that they're not living the life they actually want. That's exactly the kind of work I find most meaningful. I'm particularly interested in men's mental health, and I work with a lot of guys who have never tried therapy before and aren't sure what to expect. My approach tends to be direct, collaborative, and grounded β less abstract exploration, more working through what's actually going on and figuring out what to do about it. Sessions are available in-person near Rittenhouse Square and via telehealth across PA, NJ, MD, VA, and DC. I'm an out-of-network provider, and I'm happy to help you understand what that means for your insurance.
I support students who are used to holding it together for everyone elseβbut privately struggle with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, trauma, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others. You might overthink everything, avoid asking for help, or feel exhausted by the pressure to perform academically and socially. My practice offers a warm, steady space to slow down, make sense of what youβre carrying, and build real coping skillsβnot just quick fixes. I provide trauma-informed therapy using EMDR, partswork, art therapy, and somatic/body-based approaches that help you understand how stress and past experiences affect your body, emotions, and relationships so you can feel more grounded and confident. I accept funding through VCAP (Victim Compensation Assistance Program) which helps cover the cost of 6-12 months of therapy for sexual assault survivors in Pennsylvania (no need to have ever reported assault in order to be eligible to apply). I work with clients who feel stuckβwhether thatβs in their relationships, thoughts, careers, or life in general. My goal is to help you feel less stuck by providing collaborative, direct support focused on problem-solving and implementing lasting solutions. I believe therapy should help you gain insight into who you are at your core while also building the tools you need to face challenges with confidence. In our sessions, youβll find a warm inviting space where Iβll be honest and hold you accountable to your goals. I aim to cultivate a healthy sense of challenge that encourages you to work toward meaningful change. My hope is that youβll feel grounded and supported as we tackle lifeβs difficulties together.
Do you feel like youβre failing at a "script" you never signed up for? When you find yourself in the space between rejecting old scripts but not yet knowing what your new scripts will be, the weight of the unknown can be paralyzing. Most challenges are fueled by a fear of being 'wrong.' I help you move past those 'right' and 'wrong' binaries and develop a deep relationship with your own intuition. When you are no longer fighting yourself, you have the energy to truly connect with others. I specialize in the topics that many therapists shy away from. I help individuals and couples reclaim intimacy by addressing desire differences, sexual "addictions", or performance anxiety. Whether we are navigating transitions into non-monogamy, or healing from infidelity, weβll work on the practical skills to help you say 'yes' and 'no' with confidence. I bring my lived experience as a Queer, Trans, Latine therapist to help you navigate the complex intersections of power and identity. My style is direct yet deeply kind; I provide the 'gentle accountability' needed to break old patterns. Iβm not here to tell you how to live; Iβm here to help you communicate your needs and find what actually works for you. Some areas I explore with clients include: * Communication and conflict * Differences in desire * Sexual challenges (difficulty with orgasm, erectile dysfunction, performance anxiety, premature ejaculation, spectatorship, sexual pain, etc.) * Boundaries * LGBT(Queer) experience * Polyamory, Non-Monogamy, and Relationship Anarchy * Jealousy * Uncoupling, divorce, and separation * Multicultural & bilingual relationships (Spanish) * Political misalignment * ADHD and neurodivergence * Spirituality * Grief, loss, and life transitions * Kink and BDSM
I believe we all have the potential to live a life that brings us joy and satisfaction. I believe we all have an inner strength that allows us to change and grow, no matter how adverse the circumstances that brought us here. A therapeutic relationship based on trust, honesty, and non-judgment can bring that strength to its rightful place in our lives. I take a holistic and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I recognize that there are generational, environmental, social, political, and cultural factors that impact our day-to-day lives and decisions and believe it's important to consider these factors when learning about my clients and their experiences. When we begin to understand ourselves and our ways of thinking and acting as a part of a larger whole, we can begin to improve the quality of our lives and our relationships, especially our relationship to the self. I help clients create real change through cultivating insight around their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the context of their life, relationships, and the world around them. I also help clients develop healthier, more effective coping skills. Together, we'll work to deepen your self awareness and build on what is good, strong, and true about yourself.
Thereβs a lot of things for you to worry about, but I hope therapy doesnβt have to be one of them. I want to offer a space where you can work through anxiety and worries in real time with a real person who listens, understands, and helps you sort through the noise. Iβm not going to sit there and hand you advice you didnβt ask for. Weβll figure things out together. Whatβs behind the anxiety, how is it messing with your life, and what might actually help? The goal isnβt perfection. Itβs feeling a little more in control, a little more like yourself. Lifeβs too short to feel stuck in your own head all the time. I want to help you get out into the world. To help you connect with people who actually make you feel good and to give you a chance to discover what is really important to you. With extensive experience working with people in their 20s and 30s, as well as those in the LGBTQ+ community, Iβm here to support you through whatever life throws your way. Feel free to give me a call or email to discuss a consultation/scheduling. Or visit my website to learn more about what I have to offer.

Starting or returning to college can bring up unique challengesβnavigating relationships, managing stress, adjusting to new independence, or figuring out who you are and what you want. I work best with students who are thoughtful, curious, and open to exploring their inner world, even if that feels a little intimidating at first. Many of my clients are balancing academics with the ups and downs of friendships, family, dating, and questions about their identity. My practice is LGBTQ-affirming and welcoming to students of all backgrounds. I provide a calm and supportive space where you can slow down, untangle what feels overwhelming, and begin to feel more grounded. Whether youβre seeking clarity in relationships, support with stress or anxiety, or a place to process deeper emotions, therapy can be a meaningful step toward feeling more connected and at ease with yourself.
