“The path isn’t a straight line; it’s a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths.” ~ Barry H. Gillespie My approach is holistic, somatic, compassionate, and collaborative. Somatic psychotherapy allows you to get to the root of your concerns. While traditional talk therapy can be helpful, therapists and healers are realizing the importance of including the body into the therapy process. By blending somatic practices based in the Hatha yoga tradition, you will come to a better understanding of how to regulate your nervous system, and therefore find relief, ease, and strength. As a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I am deeply passionate about working with clients who are a part of the community. My specialties include: addiction, trauma/C-PTSD, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, ecological despair/anxiety, religious trauma, Women’s issues, HSP (highly sensitive persons), and bipolar/borderline. I also offer outdoor ecotherapy as a way to deeper connect to yourself and the natural world.
As we navigate through adulthood, we are often faced with many challenges. Questions such as "Where do I fit in? What will I do if this doesn't work out? Who am I?" may have crossed your mind. If you grapple with these concerns, you're in the right place to explore their underlying causes. Are you struggling with decision-making anxiety or feeling unfulfilled because you're unsure about what truly brings you happiness? Here, you can take the first steps towards finding the answers you seek.
I work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, life transitions, and relationship issues. I understand how trauma, childhood attachment, family of origin dynamics, and harm within our social/cultural/political systems underly many of these struggles. And I know how these painful experiences can disconnect you from yourself, your loved ones, and the joys of life. Together, we will explore the patterns that keep you stuck, understand their roots, and learn new ways of navigating life's challenges. Our work will help you restore a sense of agency and reconnection to your authentic, grounded Self that's innate to us all. My approach is relational, collaborative, and attachment-based. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR and integrate these models for powerful trauma processing and self-exploration. I support clients to shift from intellectualizing into more experiential understanding of your emotions, body, and life experiences. My clients describe me as warm, attuned, and able to hold them in all of their complexity. I don't view my role as "fixing" or giving advice, but to hold, support, and challenge you to create the changes you want in life. I look forward to getting to know you!
Lydia obtained their masters in School and Mental Health Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently working toward licensure. They have experience in working with LGBT adults and adolescents, the BIPOC community, and other marginalized identities. Lydia’s therapeutic approach primarily revolves around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Counseling and they will implement techniques that best cater to their clients’ needs. Lydia’s values are informed through a lens of intersectionality by evaluating how structural oppression affects different minority groups. As a result, they promote radical self-love and acceptance as a form of resistance against oppressive systemic structures. You can find Lydia enjoying their free time tending to their plants, spending time with their cats, and playing video games.

Going to college is the hugest leap you may ever take! It is the end of childhood and the beginning of adulthood, all starting with leaving everyone and everywhere you've known for 18 years and finding yourself in a new, strange place, away from your friends, your family, your pets, your school and your stuff that all gave you comfort. You have to learn how to DO college, make new friends, study for college exams, write excellent papers, focus on preparation for a lifelong career, negotiate sexual situations, plentiful drugs and booze. It is exciting and amazing and anxiety producing and overwhelming at times. Problems DO manage to follow you to college, like focus or learning issues, family dysfunction, reactions to STRESS! Therapy is helpful in being able to talk through all of these experiences and feelings, strategizing to get a better sense of control. We specialize in reducing anxiety, depression, panic disorders, social anxiety and shyness, study inhibition, relationship issues, eating disorders and STRESS! All sexual orientations and ethnicities welcomed.
I’m a good fit for students who get trapped in their head—overthinking everything, replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, or feeling like they can’t relax unless everything is “handled.” You might be high-achieving, but constantly stressed, exhausted, or scared of messing up. Sometimes that turns into procrastination, avoidance, or feeling numb. In therapy, we’ll focus on helping you calm the mental noise, handle stress more effectively, and build confidence in your choices—so school and life don’t feel like a constant emergency.
Asension Point Behavioral Health is designed for any person struggling to build a home within themselves or connect with the world around them.
Hey there! Are you a high achiever, but feel like you're constantly trying to please others? Struggling with family drama or always dating the same type of person? I've got you covered! I work with college students like you who want to build a better relationship with themselves and create deeper connections with others. Whether it's recognizing patterns from the past or figuring out what’s really going on inside, I’ll help you break free and start creating new habits that reflect your true self. I specialize in relational and sexual concerns—think intimacy, consent, communication—and I'm experienced working with folks in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, as well as those into kink. Talking about relationships, identity, sex, and intimacy can be tricky, but you're not alone in this! Therapy is all about collaboration and finding your own pace. My goal is to support you in feeling more connected, empowered, and clear in your choices. We'll work together to improve your relationships—whether it’s with yourself or others—and ensure they align with what truly matters to you. I know starting therapy can feel intimidating, but I’m proud of you for taking this step! Let’s navigate your challenges together, at a pace that feels right for you.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have over ten years of experience as a therapist working with clients whose lives have been affected by addiction. Because I am educated and trained to work with family systems, I am always treating relationships. It doesn't matter if I work with an individual client, a couple, or a family. Your relationships matter to me and are an integral part of our work. My ideal client is someone that has been or is currently affected by addiction - their own or someone else's.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over ten years of experience working as a dynamic psychotherapist. I am a deeply empathic therapist, whose warmth and humor help to create a safe environment for self-exploration, growth and empowerment. Together with my clients, I work to forge a new story about themselves and the world that comes from a place of strength and acceptance. I aim to help my clients live a richer life, engage in more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others, and embrace opportunities. I have worked extensively with people recovering from addictions and trauma. I am certified in couples and family therapy, and work with families coping with addiction. I enjoy working individually with women on self-development. Areas of interest: trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, young adulthood, exploring family and childhood. The struggles of transition to young adulthood are of particular interest to me. This time of life is so full of possibility; simultaneously exciting and scary. I have a great deal of experience working with students, as my office is minutes from the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University.
"Why now?" is a question I often ask at the beginning of therapy. Some people come in the aftermath of a personal or relationship crisis, some seek relief for old pain, others simply feel certain that its time for a change. My work is well-suited for people experiencing anger, grief, compassion fatigue, trauma reactivity, anxiety, depression, patterns of conflict and concerns of purpose and identity. I'm not overwhelmed by strong feelings or complex struggles. Whatever reason you may have to begin therapy, we'll work together to find the heart of the matter and what might help. My process is insight-oriented and collaborative but I'll tell you what I think. Clients have appreciated my warmth, directness and cultural competency. Some have stayed with me for years or returned after long breaks. I've had success connecting with adolescents and people who feel ambivalent about therapy. I'm deeply curious about how each of my clients experiences the world and I'll be glad to meet you. Reach out, and we can see if we might work well together.
