At Severance Therapy, we’re proud to be a diverse collective of clinicians and staff—some of whom identify within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, and others who are fierce, informed allies deeply committed to this community. What unites us is a shared dedication to providing affirming, culturally competent care in a space where authenticity is celebrated, not questioned. Many of our clinicians bring personal experience with addiction recovery, sexual identity exploration, and the complexities of queer life—from coming out and dealing with internalized stigma to navigating sobriety in a culture that often centers around substances. Others have spent their professional lives walking alongside queer clients and communities, engaging in continual learning, advocacy, and personal reflection to be the kind of allies who show up loudly and consistently. Our team includes LGBTQIA+ therapists and allied professionals from a range of racial, cultural, and gender identities. Some are in long-term recovery. Some are sex-positive and kink-aware. Some bring academic expertise, while others bring years of boots-on-the-ground experience in queer spaces, harm reduction, and sober living. Together, we offer a dynamic, compassionate, and deeply relatable therapeutic environment—because we know healing happens best when you feel seen, heard, and understood by people who truly get it. You're an adult who grew up without the emotional nurturing you needed by having a distant parent, inconsistent caregiving, or years spent being the strong one. You desired love, but received mental and emotional pain from people you trusted. Now, these early wounds are showing up as anxiety, self-doubt, depression, overthinking, trauma-responses, relationship struggles, low self-esteem, or feeling disconnected and lost. You want peace, clarity, wholeness, and the ability to break generational patterns so you can show up fully, with purpose, and thrive in life as an adult, a partner, a parent, and/or a professional. I help adults heal from the impact of childhood emotional wounds using a trauma-informed, faith-integrated approach. I work towards guiding adults to rebuild self-trust, regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and create an inner safety they've always deserved. I provide a therapeutic and transformational frame through individual, couples, and group work. You don't have to keep carrying these wounds alone. Healing is possible. It is time to experience a safe space where your story is honored without judgment. If you're ready for supportive work that helps you to feel whole again, I'd be honored to walk with you on this journey. Let's take the next step together.

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or academic stress, feeling lonely or homesick, navigating new relationships, choosing a career path, or simply having difficulty adjusting to college life and becoming more independent? This is where counseling can help with a counselor who’s been there. My first experience with professional counseling occurred when I walked into my school’s counseling center after an unexpected personal loss during my freshman year that greatly impacted the rest of my time in college. I had no idea that years later I would become a professional counselor myself seeing college students in my office. College can be simultaneously one of the most exciting and stressful times of a young adult’s life with little to no preparation beforehand. Moving to a different city or state (already one of the most stressful experiences we can have), trying to make new friends, and pick a major can all be an incredibly overwhelming transition to make. To change our present and future, we must understand our past and can do so by resolving emotionally wounded parts of ourselves that influence our thoughts and behaviors and hinder our health and relationships. I approach therapy holistically and use a combination of Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the State of Texas. I believe counseling is a place where you can be authentic and share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with validation and compassion. By putting in time, effort, and consistency we can work together to help you reach your goals. I also offer faith-based counseling and will strive to understand and respect your particular religious beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and personal values. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of every client's unique journey of healing, change, and growth and invite you to reach out if you would like to begin that process with me today.

Welcome — I’m glad you’re here. College can be an exciting time, but it’s also a time when a lot of things can feel overwhelming. Maybe you're struggling with anxiety or depression, feeling stuck in unhealthy habits, or just unsure of who you are and where you're going. You're not alone—and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. I work with college students who are navigating the stress of classes, relationships, family pressure, identity exploration, and the weight of expectations. Many of my clients feel like they're just trying to survive each day, even though they want more than that—they want to thrive. Together, we work toward understanding what’s behind those struggles, building confidence, and developing the skills and insight needed to make meaningful change. In our sessions, I’ll meet you where you are. We’ll talk about what matters to you—your values, your experiences, your hopes for the future. We’ll also explore how past experiences might be showing up in your current challenges, and we’ll use that understanding to move toward growth and self-compassion. I believe therapy should feel safe, affirming, and real. I take a holistic, nonjudgmental approach that’s grounded in curiosity and respect for your unique journey. I’m queer-allied, sex-positive, and deeply committed to helping each person feel seen and supported. If you’re ready to talk, I’m ready to listen. Let’s figure it out together.

Most of the clients I work best with have one thing in common: they feel overwhelmed by the pressure to “have it all together,” especially around food, body image, and big life transitions. Many of them are students who look fine on the outside but are quietly struggling with anxiety, burnout, or feeling disconnected from their bodies. I often work with people who: Feel guilty or stressed about eating and don’t know how to break the cycle Overthink food choices or feel “out of control” around food Are adjusting to a big life change (moving away from home, starting college, pregnancy/postpartum, major stress) Carry a lot of self-criticism and feel exhausted from trying to meet everyone’s expectations Want a space where they can be honest without feeling judged or misunderstood My clients tend to be caring, hard-working, sensitive, and often the “strong one” in their friend group. They’re usually trying to balance school, relationships, and their own mental health—often without giving themselves the same compassion they give others. If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place. My goal is to make therapy feel like a safe, steady place where you can slow down, understand what’s going on underneath the stress, and feel more connected to yourself again.

Let's be real. Anxiety is a b!tch. You know the kind I mean. Heart racing, chest tight, skin crawling, lying awake at 3am when you have to be up at 6. The kind that doesn't care how put-together you look on the outside. Most of my clients grew up in environments where they had to stay on guard just to get through the day. Emotionally unsafe, physically unsafe, or both. They learned early that keeping quiet, going along with things, and making themselves small was the smartest way to avoid getting hurt. And it worked, for a while. The problem is, survival strategies don't just turn off. So now you're people-pleasing in relationships you're not happy in. Biting your tongue when you should be speaking up. Telling yourself "it's fine" when it's really, really not. You know that voice in your head that says I should be over this by now? That's not clarity. That's the trauma talking. Here's what I see in my clients before they start working with me: they're exhausted. Not tired, exhausted. Drained by the constant hum of worry. Distant from the people they care about. Too spent to return a text, too anxious to be present, too guarded to actually rest. They carry it all in their chest like a weight they've stopped noticing because it's been there so long. You deserve something different. Not "managed" anxiety. Not white-knuckling your way through the week. Actually different. Setting your own terms. Saying no without a three-paragraph apology. Showing up in your relationships without shrinking. Feeling okay in your own skin without needing someone else's approval first. If you want to ditch the anxiety, break out of people-pleasing, and finally start living on your own terms, I'd love to help you get there.

I work with individuals and couples. Especially those who are POC, apart of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as people in nontraditional relationship or family structures. These folks are often those who are navigating identity exploration, societal pressures, relationship dynamics, & the constant overwhelm of modern life. I believe in creating the kind of place where people can be real, messy, and still be held with care. My approach is affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in curiosity. I meet clients where they are, helping them feel seen, build self-trust, and foster more honest and connected relationships. Using body-based, community, & communication focused techniques, I help you reconnect with your authentic self. Rooted in social justice, our work blends open dialogue, hands-on exploration, and storytelling. Whether you're unpacking internalized narratives or navigating life transitions, I offer space to heal, grow, and connect with compassion & intention. Taking this step takes real courage, and I commend you for starting this journey of self-discovery. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can truly explore and grow. Please reach out today to schedule a free consultation, and let’s begin this journey together.

It cannot be overstated what a big deal it is that you have begun to explore finding support for yourself. This first step is one of the hardest. I’d be honored to be a resource for you during this time, and accompany you as you grow and change. The majority of my clients are high achievers of all stripes, from Ivy League students to folks attending competitive conservatories and art schools. I was a performing artist (actor, singer, musician) for 12 years in New York City before changing careers, and I specialize in working with folks who have creative identities. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent, and most also find themselves in overfunctioning/underfunctioning dynamics in their relationships. My main therapy modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as somatic mindfulness-based therapy (Hakomi), and experiential therapy (gestalt). Basically this means that, in therapy, I will support you in getting more familiar with your internal system by helping you track what’s happening in your mind, your body, and between you and I (the therapist and the client). I’ll also guide you towards deepening your relationship with the different “parts” of your system, learning their agendas and desires, which sometimes produce inner conflicts and create stuckness. It’s well-known that being mindful of your body and breath is a great way to reduce stress, and using this practice as real situations arise in therapy will give you a practical way to use it in your day-to-day. As you get to know your system better, you will build greater trust within yourself, allowing for stuck parts to shift and for real lasting change to occur. If you’ve been in therapy before and it just felt like venting, IFS will be different. Pro tip: the research suggests that the therapy modality you use is less important than a trusting relationship with your therapist as far as positive therapy outcomes (though I will happily talk IFS theory for days). Do your best to go with your gut feeling about who intuitively feels right when choosing a therapist, even if right now might be the hardest time to do so. If something about my practice resonates, please reach out and schedule a consultation! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
