Hello! My name is Kathleen Delgadillo-Lara. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I have eight years of experience working in the mental health field, treating adults, adolescents, and geriatric patients. I have worked in outpatient community settings as well as inpatient settings treating stress, anxiety, and depression. Life can be very challenging and balancing everything can be overwhelming. I can provide support and skills to help you overcome life's obstacles and make positive changes. I use a client-centered approach, focusing on aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. I start with an introductory session where you will be able to provide me with some background to your story, what brings you into counseling and what goals you would like to work on. I strive to create a warm environment as I know it can be difficult to share some our deepest struggles. We will work together at your pace to tackle your goals.
Through play therapy, even young children (ages 3+) can express big feelings in a safe and nurturing way. I support children experiencing family changes—such as divorce, separation, or parenting transitions—while helping them build coping skills, confidence, and healthy communication. I also work with teens and adults navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, and self-worth challenges. My approach is encouraging, supportive, and focused on helping each client feel understood and empowered. Using play-based techniques and parent–child interaction strategies, I guide children in expressing emotions, developing self-regulation, and improving interactions at home and school. I also offer parents practical tools and psychoeducation to continue the progress outside the therapy room. For clients who wish to incorporate faith or spirituality into their healing, I provide an integrated approach that honors and supports those values. Whether you’re seeking support for your child, teen, or yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward growth, healing, and emotional well-being.
Do you feel on edge, stuck in your head, or like you can’t fully connect with the people you care about? Maybe your chest tightens in conflict, or you shut down when things get too overwhelming. Through integrative somatic and creative therapies, I’ll help you tune into your body, calm your system, and feel safer in yourself and your relationships.
“We don’t have to do all of it alone, we were never meant to.” -Brene Brown Currently accepting new clients for virtual/Telehealth counseling services and hypnotherapy. College can be an exciting time—but it can also bring a lot of pressure, uncertainty, and emotional stress. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, academic stress, identity questions, or relationship challenges, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. I'm here to offer a space where you can be real, feel heard, and start making sense of everything you're navigating. As a therapist, I work with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or unsure of who they are or where they're headed. My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, and focused on helping you gain clarity, confidence, and tools that actually work—without judgment or pressure. If you're looking for someone who understands the unique stressors of student life and can help you feel more grounded and in control, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
If you’re a college student feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck, you’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Many students I work with appear capable and driven on the outside, yet internally feel exhausted, pressured, or unsure they can keep going at the same pace. Constant stress, anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or self-doubt can quietly build until it starts to affect your mental health, relationships, sleep, or academic performance. I work with college students and young adults who are navigating high expectations, academic pressure, and major life transitions. You may be adjusting to college, questioning your direction, struggling to balance responsibilities, or feeling like you are never doing enough. Therapy can be a place to slow things down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and begin feeling more grounded and in control again. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping you feel better in your day-to-day life. I take time to understand your experiences so we can identify what is contributing to your stress and develop practical tools you can actually use. Together, we work on managing anxiety, reducing overwhelm, strengthening self-esteem, and building healthier ways to cope so you can move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Clients often describe me as calm, approachable, and easy to talk to. I aim to create a space where you do not have to have everything figured out and where you can be honest without fear of judgment. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you are returning with new goals, you will be met with understanding, consistency, and support. Alongside coping skills, we focus on self-reflection and insight to help you understand patterns that may be holding you back and create meaningful, lasting change. If you’re unsure whether therapy is the right next step or want to see if we’re a good fit, you’re welcome to schedule a 15-minute consultation. This gives you a chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and decide whether working together feels right for you. Reaching out for support does not mean you are failing. For many students, it is the step that helps them feel steadier, more confident, and better equipped to handle the demands of college life. You deserve support during this chapter, and you do not have to go through it alone.
