Life can feel like a constant push toward the next achievement, leaving you stuck in self-doubt, uncertainty, or the pressure to have it all figured out. Maybe you're questioning your path, struggling with relationships, or trying to break free from old patterns that no longer serve you. If your inner critic won’t quiet down or you feel overwhelmed by anxiety and stress, you don’t have to navigate it alone. The experiences we carry from childhood shape how we navigate relationships, cope with challenges, and see ourselves. Past wounds can create patterns that feel hard to break, but change is possible. If you feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt, struggling to set boundaries, or weighed down by family expectations, therapy can support you in discovering your true self and creating healthier patterns. I offer a space to explore these challenges, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop a stronger connection to yourself. I specialize in a psychodynamic approach with an attachment lens, helping you unpack how past experiences influence your present. Using a trauma-informed and holistic framework, I address the whole person—mind, body, and emotions. I also can incorporate brainspotting, a nontraditional but powerful tool that helps process trauma and emotional distress beyond talk therapy. Additionally, I support those adjusting to life with cancer or chronic illness, helping you navigate the emotional weight of a diagnosis, changes in identity, and the uncertainty that comes with it. My style is warm, approachable, and real. Therapy should be a place where you feel safe to be yourself—whether you’re laughing, crying, or just figuring things out. Let’s work together to build confidence, clarity, and a life that feels more like yours.

Kaitlin Boyd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Yoga Teacher. She specializes in helping teens and adults who are struggling with worry and sadness and want to learn how to confidently embody their authentic selves. Many of her clients are Empaths or Highly Sensitive People--they crave "more" out of life and are seekers with big questions about how to create a life worth living. They have a multitude of strengths, including the ability to feel deep compassion for others and to think critically about the world we live in. But they can also struggle with feeling misunderstood and can develop low self-confidence after focusing so much of their time and attention on others. In therapy, Kaitlin works to help clients express their true selves and find inner peace. Her approach is holistic and evidence-based, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Existential Therapy. She teaches skills to help clients cope and relate to others in healthy ways, as well as mindfulness to get in touch with the "root cause" of clients' suffering, which can be anything from an unhelpful thought pattern to an unexpressed emotion. Kaitlin welcomes a diversity of clientele and provides a safe space for clients interested in exploring their experience of oppression in the multitude of ways it manifests in our culture. Kaitlin offers the flexibility of remote online therapy sessions.

In our work together, you’ll find a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be yourself, explore your experiences, and feel seen and supported. Whether you're coming out, grappling with internalized struggles, or just trying to find your place in the world, I’m here to help you build confidence, resilience, and live authentically—on your own terms.
As humans, we are subjected to the many ups, and downs life throws at us. One of my favorite quotes that I use as a core principle to help clients is, "Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." Meaning we can choose, and we have to power to regain a rich, full, meaningful life. If you are ready to break old patterns, live a life in the direction of your values, and accept all parts of yourself, then you are already on your path of personal growth. My goal is to walk alongside you through this journey and provide support and empowerment to live a heart-driven, meaningful life. I use a variety of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT). I can help you identify and build a value-driven life, help with troubling thoughts and feelings, and utilize mindfulness, to help you connect your mind and body as coping skills to better serve you.
There's something different about you. Maybe you're figuring out what sexuality, gender, and romantic life can look like, or exploring polyamory or kink. Maybe you're a plural system. Or maybe your life has been changed by traumatic experiences. You may view the world through a neurotype or spiritual lens that doesn’t match the people around you. It might be really hard to trust people--to risk opening up about what you're dealing with. I get it. It’s hard to know who actually has your back. And trying to find the right counselor when you're already struggling with so much can feel impossible. That's where I come in. My job is to listen--to get to know you and help you shape your life into what *you* want it to be. As your therapist, I'll help you work toward the life you want, based on your specific situation and needs. I won't blame you, or try to change you in ways that you don't want, or force you to talk about things that are too hard. You might feel overwhelmed, but you've made it this far. You're taking steps toward feeling better--feeling okay. I know you're in pain, and I believe you're doing your best. But when things aren't working, you don't have to try to figure it all out alone. Send me an email, or a text, or a phone call. We can figure it out from here, together.
Finding ourselves stuck in problems that we can't seem to figure out isn't uncommon and asking for help isn't easy, but it is a brave first step. My hope is that once I have the opportunity to get to know you and your unique experiences, I can help you to develop the skills to manage life's challenges in a way that you can be proud of. I have worked with children, families and adults and tailor my practice to the individuals I serve. I strive to create a space that is safe, non-judgemental and considers the complexity of your life. My past work has been with individuals of all ages who have experienced complex trauma and the resulting depression, anxiety, anger, fear, shame and grief. I strive to create a safe and anti-oppressive practice that respects, validates and affirms individual racial, ethnic, religious, spiritual, gender and sexual identities. I believe that people are meant to live in relationship, but that often we get stuck in negative cycles of relating to ourselves, others and the world that keep us from growth and joy. In my own life, I have worked and continue to work to break down these things for myself, and I am honored to join others in their work to do the same. :)

Do you feel stuck? Do you feel like you know all the rules and what you are “supposed to do” but somehow can’t get where you want to go? As your therapist, it is my goal to help you feel at home in your mind, body, and heart. I can help deconstruct and shift your “shoulds” into something that feels more authentic and meaningful to you. We also can dig into your past and explore how old coping mechanisms that may have helped at one time are now limiting. I am trained in a myriad of techniques—including mindfulness and EMDR—to gently guide your mind and body back to the present moment to a state of well-being and resiliency. I believe in your innate goodness and will always remind and point this out to you. I cannot tell you what is right/wrong or healthy/unhealthy and I resist being another voice telling you what you are “supposed to do”. My job is to provide a warm and accepting space to not just think and talk but to feel the big emotions. I will ask questions, reflect, and ponder alongside you as we rediscover your inherent wisdom and regain a sense of freedom. My clients tend to be intelligent humans who feel caught in their anxious minds, trauma, or simply desire support in living a more authentic and meaningful life. I work with people suffering from anxiety, perfectionism, life changes and transitions, grief, disordered eating, trauma, panic attacks, binge eating disorder, low self esteem, poor body image, and depression among many more.
