Therapists for college students near Georgia State University
I am a Physician Assistant experienced in working in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. I diagnose and help patients to manage conditions including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, sleep issues, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and much more. Through medication management, I aspire to help my patients manage their conditions as best as possible by using the least amount of medication in order to manage their symptoms. I also am familiar with over-the-counter / naturopathic approaches to mental health and how using these vitamins as adjuncts to medication can often work synergistically with psychiatric meds. I know that medications aren’t always the only method to improve your mental health, so oftentimes I refer my patients to counseling and therapy too. Originally from the state of FL, I graduated from then University of FL with my bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies before earning my PA degree from the University of South Alabama in 2020. I was recently awarded a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Psychiatry by the NCCPA.

Life can feel overwhelming sometimes. You may look like you're holding everything together on the outside while inside you feel anxious, stressed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. I help individuals, couples, and families with adult children untangle what's stuck beneath the surface — to feel more connected, grounded, and steady, even in the hardest moments. For over 25 years, I've worked with clients navigating anxiety, stress, grief, loss, life transitions, self-doubt, relationship struggles, communication breakdowns, premarital work, divorce, parenting challenges, empty nesting, and more. Therapy is a space to exhale and slow down — where you don't have to hold everything alone. It's a chance to feel genuinely seen, understood, and safe as you move toward meaningful change, whether individually, with your partner, or your family. Together, we get curious about the cycles, patterns, and different "parts" of you — the ones that once kept you safe, but may now be standing between you and the life, love and relationships you are longing for. My work draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment work, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Coaching, Mindfulness, and other relational approaches — always tailored to your unique needs and goals. Throughout our work, I will unwaveringly hold your strength, possibility, and brilliance - even when you can’t see it. I love working with insightful, curious clients who are motivated for change. Feel free to contact me to schedule a complimentary consultation.
My name is Jessica Kettell and I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I am here to help you restore your mental health and empower you to live your life to your fullest potential. Are you feeling sad or empty? Do you have trouble sleeping? Or maybe, you are so overwhelmed, anxious, or discouraged that it’s hard for you to make it through the day? You might find it hard to focus on tasks or assignments. Whatever problems you are facing right now, let’s tackle them together! You are not alone. You deserve to be happy and enjoy your life. I have completed a Fellowship Program in Functional and Integrative Psychiatry with Dr. James Greenblatt. My lifelong dream has been to make mental health care more accessible to individuals and to reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment. Just as it is normal to seek treatment for diabetes, it should be natural to seek treatment to improve your mental health. You are a biochemically unique individual. A treatment that works well for someone, might not work best for you. That is why I use an evidence-based, whole-body, personalized approach to identify all factors that might be contributing to your mental health condition such as nutrition, lifestyle, hormones, genetics, and stress. Good nutrition and lifestyle practices are the foundation of mental wellness. I would love to support you on your mental health journey. Let’s do this together!
I have experience helping clients from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of presenting concerns. My approach is collaborative and supportive. I work to provide clients with practical skills to assist with immediate stressors while also addressing underlying issues when appropriate. Clients who work with me generally report feeling challenged by our work but also enjoying our sessions.

Do you find yourself struggling to navigate new responsibilities, relationships, and expectations? I understand the unique difficulties college-age students face, and am here to support you on your journey. My therapy practice specializes in helping individuals overcome adjustment issues and navigate life transitions with confidence and resilience. I combine evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and a mindfulness approach to provide you with the tools and strategies you need to thrive during this important chapter of your life. I recognize that each individual's experiences and needs are unique. Therapy sessions are personalized to address your specific challenges, goals, and values. I work collaboratively with you to create a care plan that aligns with your aspirations and supports your personal growth. I am committed to helping you navigate life's transitions with strength, self-compassion, and confidence. Together, we will explore your unique journey and empower you to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
I am inspired to work in mental health care because I am passionate about helping individuals overcome challenges, find resilience, and achieve a better quality of life. I find it deeply rewarding to be part of my patients’ journeys toward healing and growth, and I value the opportunity to address the stigma around Mental Health and advocate for compassionate, evidence-based care. I ensure patients feel heard and understood by actively listening, reflecting their thoughts and feelings, and validating their experiences. I create a safe, non-judgmental space, pay attention to verbal and nonverbal cues, and tailor my approach to their unique needs, fostering trust and collaboration. Building trust and a strong Therapeutic Alliance with my patients begins with creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment where they feel heard and respected. I approach each patient with genuine curiosity about their experiences and ensure that I validate their emotions and perspectives. Consistency and reliability are key, so I strive to communicate clearly and follow through on what I say. I also prioritize transparency by explaining my thought process, treatment recommendations, and the rationale behind decisions to involve the patient in their care plan actively. Additionally, I respect their autonomy and individuality, recognizing that trust is earned over time through mutual collaboration and demonstrating my commitment to their well-being.

Our fears of facing change and what life will look like without change can feel overwhelming. Sometimes we believe the lies fear has told us about who we are. Not knowing where to start or questioning if we have what it takes, keeps us stuck where we don’t want to be; it feels hopeless. At City View Counseling and Consulting, we believe there is hope. Taking the brave steps towards a clearer path and the truest version of yourself is not something you have to do alone. We understand finding the right therapist can be hard. We make sure you are paired with the therapist who is the best fit for you and where you are on your journey. We collaborate with you to provide a path and plan, tailored to your specific needs. With the right tools and a safe place to process difficult things, our clients are able to break free from destructive patterns, move through transformation and continue their journey towards wholeness and freedom.

You may feel capable and self-aware in most areas of life yet unsettled in your closest relationships. Together, we will connect the dots between present triggers and earlier relational experiences so recurring patterns can be understood and shifted with intention.
