Neuropsychological assessment can be pursued for a variety of reasons, but typically, it is to gain a deeper understanding of why you or your child may be struggling, find answers, and figure out what to do about it! Dr. Pamela Wineman will help you find these answers, and set you on a path toward building the resources and supports necessary to begin making progress in a way that is practical and realistic. Testing batteries are custom built based upon the referral question. Areas assessed might include: · Cognitive/Intellectual abilities · Academic achievement · Executive Function skills · Language · Social-emotional functioning. In particular, Dr. Wineman has expertise in administering projective testing measures which provide a more in-depth assessment of an individual’s worldview and affective traits. The use of projectives allows for exploration of one’s thoughts and feelings at the subconscious level. Dr. Wineman sees individuals with a wide range of diagnostic presentations (e.g., ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disturbance, psychosis, behavioral issues, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders). She has a sub-specialty in individuals with complex mental health symptoms and psychiatric hospitalization, as well as trauma histories. Evaluations include an intake session, full assessment, and feedback session, as well as a comprehensive report with clinical diagnostic impressions and detailed recommendations. Most importantly, it it understood that many presenting problems can cause significant distress and thus, timeliness is essential. Clients can expect to receive reports within a few weeks of the final appointment.

Here for you! Are you struggling with school/work, feeling anxious and/or depressed and not sure how to manage these feelings? Do you feel like you aren't measuring up to those around you? Need support dealing with life's challenges or someone to help you set goals and objectives? Life can be challenging and it can be helpful to have someone alongside you instead of facing challenges alone. No two people are the same and therefore therapy should not be either. Therapy doesn’t have to feel like a chore! For over 10 yrs, I have worked with teens, college students and adults, specializing in anxiety, depression and stress management. I have been told that I am relatable and easy to talk with and always impartial. We will work together to explore skills and coping strategies in a positive and supportive environment to help you feel like your best self. Services are private pay and I also offer a super bill for you to submit to your insurance company for Out of Network reimbursement. You owe it to yourself to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if I can be the right fit to help support you along your journey. I look forward to hearing from you! There are times when life brings us challenges and presents us with unexpected or difficult situations. We may not always feel in control over the events in our lives. Stress, anger, fear, anxiety, sadness can often become overwhelming. We may not know which way to turn for support or understand how to bring about the positive changes we’d like to see happen. Change is possible. You have taken the most important first step--reaching out--and I am here to work with you, making your goals realities. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) with over twenty years of experience working with individuals and families. My approach to counseling is non-judgmental, integrative, and collaborative. I work with you so that, together, we can meet your goals. Expressive Therapy is an important approach I use in therapy and it involves engaging in activities like drawing, storytelling, music, writing as part of the process towards a deeper understanding. It provides the means for us to explore and share authentically who we are, our pain, our joy, and to welcome the support of others on our journey.

In my private practice, I work with high school, college, and graduate/professional students. I enjoy working with high-achieving students of all genders, racial/ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am also pleased to see those those who strive to achieve but are facing barriers to academic or personal success. Because I also consult to schools and colleges, I am very effective at helping students and families navigate educational institutions.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, offering individual psychotherapy to adults who may find themselves stuck, dissatisfied, or overwhelmed. I view therapy as a collaborative and active process, with the aims of better understanding one's distress and interpersonal difficulties, and improving one's quality of life. I am committed to helping my clients live more meaningful and authentic lives. I am skilled in the use of empirically supported treatments for psychological problems and I employ these strategies flexibly, with the goal of tailoring each client's treatment to his/her/their individual concerns and unique history. I received my Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I completed my clinical training at the Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. I've also completed two post-graduate fellowships in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I consider myself a generalist, with particular expertise in young adult mental health. In addition to my private practice, I am a faculty member in the clinical psychology doctoral program at William James College. I served as the Clinical Training Director at the MIT Student Counseling Service for over a decade, and I also have supervised psychiatry residents through the Harvard Medical School Longwood Psychiatry Program. NOTE: I offer sessions via telehealth, and will begin to offer in-person appointments this summer.
