I am a Harvard and Brown University educated board-certified psychiatrist welcoming new patients seeking tailored, patient-centered psychiatric care in Back Bay. I believe in a thoughtful approach to psychiatric treatment and often advocate for psychotherapy before medications. However, if symptoms are severe, I will work with you to find a medication that may help. I strongly encourage open and honest communication throughout the treatment process as I want you to get the best possible treatment which aligns with your preferences and goals. I’m Kelsey Lawrence (she/her), a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts with over 10 years of experience providing therapy. I have worked with clients of all ages in a variety of clinical settings. My specialty is working with clients affected by depression, anxiety, trauma, familial challenges, and relationship changes. I am currently offering virtual Zoom (HIPPA-compliant) therapy sessions, covered via insurance or private pay, for adolescent girls and young adult women (ages 10-25).
Welcome! I know that choosing a therapist is a difficult task and that embarking in a therapeutic treatment requires a lot of courage. I am certain that the warm, and nonjudgmental environment that I provide will help you feel safe and supported as you explore the problems that interfere with the way that you want to live your life. I am pleased that you have enough self-awareness to realize that you need to act now. I am a licensed psychologist with broad therapeutic interests: issues related to parenting, migration, intimate relationship, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, and low self-esteem. I have over twenty years of experience helping clients better understand themselves, reduce their suffering, and increase their capacity for joyful living. Successful therapy depends on a good fit between therapist and client; it's precisely the quality of the collaborative therapeutic relationship that is central to healing. Your concerns don't have to be severe to justify making the first call.
My name is Kristina and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker located in the Greater Boston area. My approach is to be authentic, non-traditional and meet clients where they are in their journey. I am specially skilled in a harm reduction framework and provide therapy without judgement. I also use an equity-focused lens and bring social justice into my whole-person approach. My flow is to allow the client to drive the sessions and encourage them to come with whatever version of themselves that they see fit. I have several years of experience working as a therapist in a community health center, working on an addiction team, primary care teams and providing group therapy. My group work experience has been running creative coping (art-based skills) groups, women’s groups and addiction/recovery groups. Most of my clinical work has consisted working with those with a history of chronic homelessness, individuals with prolonged institutional care histories, poly-substance use and severe mental health complexities. These experiences have led me to believe that therapy needs to be decolonized and more authentic to the client and therapist. If you think this ideology is a good match for you, feel free to reach out to inquire about services.
My practice is: Queer- and Trans-affirming, Neurodiversity affirming, sex positive, Kink-affirming, and Poly/Non-Monogamy-affirming. I work with individuals and relationships. I like to establish up front that I am a safe person to correct, call-out, interrupt, disagree and argue with. It will not impact our therapeutic relationship. You are the expert of your own life. (If minor is included.) I work with all ages IF conjointly working with the whole system, otherwise I mainly work with adults.

If you are someone who is struggling to navigate the intricate web of school/work, family, and relationships, I am here to help. Many college students find themselves feeling stuck, dwelling on the past, or consumed by worries about the future, making it difficult to remain present and truly engage with and take control of their lives and their futures. My approach starts with building a strong relationship, and I draw from a diverse toolkit, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy, tailoring our sessions to the client's specific needs. Moreover, I have extensive experience working with adolescents and college students.

Thank you for considering working with me. I do both therapy and/or medication management. My approach is a team approach where I work collaboratively with you. Even if you have a therapist and need someone for just medication management, I like to get to know you as a whole. I try to avoid making students feel labeled and pressured to start a medication. I strive to make a welcoming environment for all students with diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ students. My private practice is mainly undergraduate and graduate students along with young adults recently in the workforce.
Perhaps you’ve been feeling overwhelmed recently. Or you’re struggling with constant worry and stress. Being a young woman and trying to find your way into adulthood is not an easy path. Anxiety is a common feeling during this time, and a natural human emotion, but too much of it can prevent us from leading the life we want. We all go through difficult times, and sometimes we need a little extra support to see our way through. I view my role as a therapist as a supportive and encouraging guide. Together we’ll explore unhelpful thoughts and patterns getting in the way of you becoming the woman you want to be.
