Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
Taking the first step of reaching out to a therapist can feel daunting, so let's take this next step together. We all have times in our lives when things start to feel too heavy to navigate alone. I am passionate about working with folks experiencing challenges with anxiety and/or OCD. I also specialize in grief and feel honored to support clients in learning how to carry what can't be fixed. I'm a firm believer that just as we care for our physical health, our mental health deserves the same attention, understanding, and compassion. I take a human-centered approach, honoring the identities that shape who you are and the systems you navigate, creating a space for healing and meaningful change. My primary goal as a therapist is to create a safe environment, rooted in curiosity, for clients to feel empowered and know they are not alone. With my office based in Grand Rapids, I offer in-person and virtual sessions for people in the state of Michigan. Feel free to reach out to me by phone or email, whichever you prefer.
Hi! I’m Christen Clark, LMSW. I’m passionate about counseling women going through anxiety, depression, grief or challenging life transitions. In particular, I have a heart for college students, young adults, and women going through pregnancy/postpartum. Life can be hard. Transitions have a tendency to bring up past trauma, anxiety, or depression. Sometimes “high achievers” can be suffering internally with their mental health while no one else knows. If life feels overwhelming, out of control, or it is becoming hard to function - you’re in the right place. There is hope. I know reaching out for help can be intimidating - maybe even scary. My goal is to help you feel at ease in therapy sessions by building a real relationship. I hope to provide a warm, loving presence and to help you recognize your own strengths. My number one priority is making sure we are a good fit and building trust in our therapeutic relationship. I am fueled by my faith in God to treat every woman I encounter with love, support, and grace. You are worthy of love, acceptance, and to see the beauty of life again. Although I am a Christian, I have experience working with women from all kinds of diverse backgrounds. I value your worldview and we can use faith as much or as little as you desire in our sessions. You are not alone. Keeping our depressive or anxious thoughts in the dark is a breeding place for shame. Opening up is the only way to move towards healing. Sometimes, when we shine a light on what seems so dark and shameful we find out it’s not as bad as we thought. As someone who has struggled personally, I provide a non-judgmental atmosphere in our sessions. I am grateful for 8 years of experience in social work after graduating from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work and a Master’s Degree in social work from Spring Arbor University. I’m currently providing exclusively online individual therapy services. Good news - no matter where you’re located in the State of Michigan, I can help.
We are all on a constant journey of self-discovery and healing, but you don’t have to go on this journey alone. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, life changes, relationship difficulties, or even feeling unsure of exactly what is keeping you from your full potential, I am here to help guide you to feeling some relief. As your therapist I will work with you to develop coping skills, change negative self-talk, and find ways to achieve your goals. I utilize a holistic approach to counseling and view the entire person and their experiences as a whole. My approach to therapy is dependent on each client’s wants and needs. I recognize that each client is the expert of their own life and that my role is to be a safe, non-judgmental person who helps guide you to becoming closer to who you want to be. I use a strengths-based approach to empower clients to make positive and meaningful life changes. You've already taken the first step in the healing process by beginning your search. By taking the next step, you are investing in yourself, and making you a priority. I would be honored to support you and walk alongside you in your journey. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to set up an appointment.

I’m Brittany, a licensed therapist who works with college students and young adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like they’re constantly trying to “keep up” but can’t quite get there. Therapy with me is not just about talking; we focus on understanding patterns, building practical tools, and working through experiences that continue to impact how you feel and function. My approach is tailored to each person, integrating practical strategies with deeper work to support meaningful, lasting change. My style is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you feel more in control of your life - not just in sessions, but day-to-day.
Establishing a strong working relationship is essential to positive therapeutic outcomes. I firmly believe that therapy works best when you match well on a personal level. Adjusting to college is hard. There's a lot of pressure to do well academically, socially, personally...and it can be helpful to have an unbiased person to vent to and talk about what you're struggling with. I specialize in treating individuals struggling with primary and secondary trauma. I use a multifaceted approach to therapy to meet my clients where they are and to suit their individual needs, whether trauma is a main focus or not.
I work with college students and adults who are navigating stress, anxiety, academic pressures, relationships, and life transitions. I take a collaborative and supportive approach, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs and goals. Some clients choose to explore EMDR, and I’m trained to use it when it fits, but many find our sessions helpful through conversation, reflection, and practical coping strategies. I aim to create a space where students feel understood and empowered, whether you’re struggling with burnout, uncertainty about the future, or past experiences that continue to affect your life. I accept BCBS of Michigan and BCN and offer telehealth sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays to make therapy accessible and easy to fit into a busy schedule.
My goal for counseling is to provide an open and accepting environment for everyone. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and it's important to feel connected to whoever you work with. I hope that my practice provides that for you.

I specialize in adult depth-oriented Relational Psychoanalytic psychotherapy and a highly individualized approach to neuropsychological assessment for ADHD and Autism. As relational beings, we are instinctively wired for connection. It is within the context of relationship that we discover our potential for transformative change. I view therapy as a collaborative process of uncovering this potential by cultivating a deep, trusting relationship that becomes the vehicle for self-exploration and change. As a neurodivergent psychologist, I approach my work with a genuine sense of humility to create a space that is inclusive and affirming to all. I also feel that it is imperative to provide therapy that goes beyond merely treating symptoms. This is why I take a depth-oriented approach in order for us to discover the root causes of suffering, work through barriers, and move toward meaningful, long-lasting life changes. Drawing on a strengths-based approach, I customize my sessions to align with the uniqueness of each client. I believe in the importance of honoring the developmental, biological, sociocultural, and interpersonal parts of yourself to assist in the healing process. Using this comprehensive approach to treatment, I recognize that true well-being encompasses the integration of mental, emotional, and physical aspects of health.
Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here and taking this important step in your therapy journey. My name is Ruqaiyah Rogers, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker and therapist. I’m passionate about helping college students like you find clarity, confidence, and balance while navigating life’s challenges. 🌟 College can be an exciting time, but it can also feel overwhelming whether you’re dealing with anxiety, stress, depression, big life changes, or just feeling stuck. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you feel comfortable exploring what’s going on and figuring out ways to move forward. I see therapy as a partnership. We’ll work together to identify your goals and use approaches that fit your unique needs. For example: CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy): This is all about helping you recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns so you can feel more in control of your emotions and actions. DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): Here, we focus on learning practical skills like managing overwhelming feelings, improving relationships, and staying grounded in the moment. Brainspotting: This is a technique that helps process deeper emotions and stress stored in your body. It’s great for understanding and healing from tough experiences. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): This approach is especially helpful for working through difficult memories or trauma, so they don’t feel as overwhelming anymore. If this is your first time in therapy, you might feel a little nervous, and that’s completely normal. Therapy is a space just for you, a private, judgment-free zone, to talk about anything that’s on your mind, no matter how big or small. You’re already showing courage by taking this step, and I’m here to support you in finding your way toward growth, healing, and the life you want. Let’s work together to create meaningful change and help you feel more confident and connected to yourself. 💜💛
