Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
I am the founder and director of the Mother Wound Project (@motherwoundproject). I received my MSW from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and have 9 years of experience helping individuals, parent-child pairs, families, and couples successfully navigate the mother wound, the father wound, family conflict, parenting after trauma, no contact/estrangement, and reconciliation. I also support those who are struggling with body image and eating disorder conditions that impact daily life. My approach as a therapist is both compassionate and person-centered. I believe every family is capable of healing and that healing the family is how we will ultimately heal the world.

Asking for help can be hard, but it doesn’t have to be! You don’t have to suffer in silence or figure it out alone. Are you ready to name what you need? Are you ready to be authentically you? Are you ready to confront the things you’ve been avoiding, set goals, and crush them? These are just a few questions some of my clients might ask themselves as they prepare to engage in therapy. If you are ready to take steps on your journey, I am dedicated to providing the supportive, compassionate and authentic environment for you to succeed, so send the message, let’s connect! I recieved my Bachelors in Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 2013, and obtained my Masters in Social Work and Evidence Based Trauma Treatment Certificate in 2018.

Therapy is the ultimate form of self care. It can lead to radical self-acceptance, allowing you to manifest the positive goals you have for your life. Seeking therapy traditionally has had barriers, and I know breaking those barriers will create a better, more accessible, revolutionary, and empathic society. My clinical interests include working with LGBTQIA+ issues, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, domestic violence, and times of adjustment and change. I come from person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-focused modalities. I utilize an eclectic approach in our sessions, as each client is different. I believe in a therapeutic relationship that is equal and balanced. Our goals will be mutual and dynamic. You are an expert in your life, and I look forward to working together to create the healthy and positive change you see for yourself.

Great to meet you! My name is Cynthia D. Perry, and I am the founder of Restoration Christian Counseling. I provide Christ-centered counseling for individuals who are seeking healing, restoration, and a deeper relationship with God. Over the years, I have worked with people facing trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My therapy approach is one that is holistic to address the Mind, body, and spirit. I believe true healing comes through God’s Word and His restorative power. My approach combines biblical principles with therapeutic practice. I take a person-centered approach, meaning our work together moves at your pace and is always grounded in compassion, respect, and the belief that God has a redemptive plan for your life. In our first session, my focus is on listening to your story and creating a safe, welcoming space where you feel understood and supported. My clients often repot that they leave the first session with hope, encouragement, newfound strength, and inspiration to continue, renew, or to begin their relationship with God. Together, we’ll begin building a trust-based relationship that allows you to grow spiritually and emotionally. My goal is that you not only feel heard, but I am committed to helping clients find purpose, strength. peace, and restoration. For me, this is a ministry and a reflection of God's heart.

There isn’t a one size “fix” all package for mental health. What works for one; may not work for another. I will be the first one to tell you that I am not the expert in your pain, your life, or your journey. You are. I am simply here to walk alongside you and be a resource for your growth. I believe one of the hardest and bravest things you can do for yourself, is to not only understand your story, but to continue growing from it. As a therapist, it is my goal to help others help themselves and is a motto I have lived by for years now and hope to incorporate this daily with my clients. It is not my role nor my desire to tell you how to live your life; rather, how you can get through some of those hard times, a little less scathed. From my personal experience, working with a therapist that practices empathy, listening, and building trust has helped me through some very dark times. It is my hope to practice these with every person I come into contact with. However small a role I can play in your growth and journey would be an honor. - www.speakeasygr.com (Speak;Easy Mental Wellness)
