I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and identity-related concerns. I have experience supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ patients and individuals from immigrant families navigating the intersection of cultural identity, family dynamics, and intergenerational experiences. I also have experience working with individuals facing more complex mental health challenges, including psychosis and other high acuity presentations, and I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel understood, empowered, and safe throughout the therapeutic process. My approach to therapy is informed by attachment theory, recognizing that our earliest relationships can shape how we experience trust, intimacy, conflict, and emotional safety throughout our lives. In therapy, we can explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion while developing healthier ways of relating to ourselves and others. I integrate psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and somatic approaches, including breathwork and grounding techniques, to help patients build insight, strengthen coping skills, regulate emotions, and create meaningful, lasting change. I'm passionate about helping people recognize their strengths and create meaningful change, even during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. I value the opportunity to build genuine therapeutic relationships and provide a space where patients feel supported, understood, and empowered. Seeing patients gain insight, develop confidence, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach is what makes this work so rewarding to me.

College can feel overwhelming—you may be juggling classes, relationships, family expectations, and major life decisions all at once. You deserve support that helps you feel grounded, focused, and able to grow during this time. I take a strengths-based approach, recognizing the resilience and determination you already bring. As a parent who completed my degree while working full-time, I understand firsthand the challenges of balancing multiple roles. That experience shapes how I help students build boundaries, stay focused, and create sustainable strategies for success. I work best with students who want more than a space to vent. Together, we focus on practical tools, clearer direction, and meaningful change you can apply in daily life. I especially enjoy supporting working parents, adult learners, and first-generation college students navigating anxiety, cultural or family pressures, identity concerns, and relationship stress. As a bilingual (English/Spanish) LCSW with over 10 years of experience, I provide a supportive, structured space to help you feel more confident, connected, and empowered in college and beyond.

I'm so glad you've started this journey to improve your mental wellbeing. I know how difficult beginnings can be—I’ve worked with a number of first-time and returning therapy clients from backgrounds as diverse as New York City itself. I particularly enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients and people with disabilities and neurodivergences. I do my best to honor your cultural experience as we tackle some of life’s biggest challenges together: depression and anxiety, trauma and grief, chronic illness and medical issues, relationship difficulties and life transitions, and problematic drug use or other behaviors that may no longer be serving you. My own career began in worker organizing, then moved into community social work and social policy research. I have a deep appreciation for how relationships and social realities impact mental health and prioritize a relational and social change-oriented approach. Disability justice, racial justice, and gender justice are core tenets of my practice. My work is also influenced by my own experiences as a therapy client: I strive to be as transparent as possible about what we’re doing and why, so you can be a full partner on the journey and never feel left in the dark. Above all, I am person-centered: I start by learning who you are as an individual, your strengths and challenges, and then figure out which clinical approaches can work best for you. I often draw from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and am pursuing further training in these modalities. I very much look forward to meeting you and taking this journey together!

Therapy can deepen your capacity for love, trust, and connection — with yourself and with others. I’ve seen it ease depression, anxiety, and shame; strengthen self-esteem; and help people become more resilient during life’s ups and downs. Most of all, it can bring forward a truer, more authentic self. Therapy is a collaborative process. You speak, and I listen closely — for what’s said and what lies beneath the surface — helping you see what may be getting in the way of a more fulfilling life. As Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I’ve found that to be true. Patients find it helpful to explore childhood, memories that bubble up, dreams, feelings, fears, wishes — whatever arises. Our aim is an understanding of your inner world that leads to meaningful action & choice. With couples, I help you listen more clearly & break entrenched patterns. Everyone longs to be seen and heard & I'll help you arrive at that place. As a therapist and writer, I’m inspired to help each patient take hold of their narrative — understanding where they’ve come from & where they’d like to go. As we get to know one another, I tailor my style to your personality and needs. Your feedback is always encouraged. Email me to schedule a consultation & see if we’re a good fit. Have you arrived at a point in your life where carrying so much emotional and mental weight is becoming significant in your life? These challenges can present as feeling stuck and/or experiencing depression, anxiety & more. I believe arriving to Self can happen by showing up completely through the internal work that focuses on awareness, connection, mindfulness, ancestral wisdom, and community. I work with individuals seeking alignment who are open to an integrative approach to therapy. Our partnership explores a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. Your unique story is approached with the desired goals and changes that can bring balance into your life. I offer a culturally humble and holistic approach along with evidence-based modalities as well as holistic modalities (teachings from Yoga, Reiki, and plant medicine). Therapy can be a powerful way to help you delve into the deep, inner work that helps one develop awareness of intergenerational patterns and traumas that may keep you stuck in the past and struggling to thrive in the present. Healing yourself means healing community - congratulations in making the step towards embodying the wholeness and truth of you!

I work with students who need more or different support than they are able to access on-campus. You may be looking for long-term therapy or for a therapist who specializes in working with people like you. I am trained in several types of therapy (ACT, DBT, relational, multicultural-feminist) and apply them flexibly based on what you need. Students who work with me are often looking for longer-term therapy, where we address deeper issues in a safe relationship, at your own pace. Others are seeking individual therapy that makes room for activism and the big problems of our time. We may be a good fit for therapy together if you are coping with a difficult family, relationship trouble, recurrent mental health problems (e.g. BPD, PTSD, MDD, GAD), or a life transition (e.g. grief, divorce, pregnancy, moving, spiritual/religious crisis). I also have particular experience working with medical students. Finally, I am a climate-aware and social justice-focused therapist; this means your experience with collective problems like white supremacy and the climate crisis is a welcome, respected, and important part of therapy. I don't take insurance, but I offer sliding scale fees based on financial need. Please reach out to me for a 15-minute phone call to see what might be possible in our work together!

I believe that everyone's story is unique to them and will develop a personalized approach for each client using evidence based treatment. I want my clients to be able to have an increased insight in to their emotions and behaviors. I want to help my clients develop a better understanding of what their needs are and how to have those needs be met.

It can often feel daunting and challenging to ask others for help; however, I am glad you have ended up on my page and are looking for support at this point in your life. My hope as your future therapist is to help you emerge into the best version of yourself by helping you overcome some of the internal barriers that may be impacting how you perceive yourself, others, and the world. As a therapist, I like to approach my work with clients in a collaborative, exploratory, & conversational manner. I will also remain attuned to your unique experiences and intersecting identities (e.g., race, gender, sexuality) throughout our work. I have worked with clients on a wide breadth of concerns, including (but not limited to): anxiety, depression, career concerns, relationship concerns, family of origin concerns, identity exploration/development, & interpersonal concerns. I have experience working with undergraduate & graduate students, adults, and other mental health providers. **I am in-network with Aetna (NY, MD, & VA) and Anthem (NY).** I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurances. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance often will cover a large percentage of the session fee. I can provide a superbill for your sessions, which you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Finding a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and connected is key. Thus, I offer a complimentary phone consultation to help determine whether we might be a good match. If my approach resonates with you, please reach out. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It usually means you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time. I work with college students and young adults who are trying to keep up on the outside while feeling stressed, burned out, or unsure of themselves on the inside. Therapy with me is practical, supportive, and focused on helping you understand what’s actually driving your anxiety, overthinking, or self-doubt, and what to do about it in real life. Sessions are a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and build tools you can use outside of therapy. You don’t need to have the right words, a clear goal, or a crisis to start. We take things at your pace and figure it out together. If you’re curious about therapy but not sure it’s for you, a consultation is a low-pressure way to ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit.

Are you finding it difficult to cope with your overthinking, negative feelings, and anxious thoughts? Do your negative feelings associate with your appearance, self-worth, or accomplishments? Does it sound like “I’m not good enough, I will never succeed, I’ll always be alone, I hate the way I look, No one cares about me”? Do your anxious thoughts manifest in difficulty sleeping, working, or socializing? Do you feel you need a place for someone to hear you, see you, and validate your experience? Would you like to acquire coping skills for anxiety regarding your relationships, your career, or communication? I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to help adults overcome negative self-talk, life transitions, relationship issues, and imposter syndrome and achieve an increased understanding of feelings, emotions, relationships, communication, and self-worth. I aim to create a collaborative environment within our therapy sessions because I believe you, as the client, have the ability to understand yourself and your concerns and you may just need some assistance in building the tools to manage and overcome them. Together, we will figure out how to build a relationship that will support you in the way that you need.
