I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of South Carolina and Pennsylvania providing counseling to individuals, couples, and families who are looking for someone to work alongside them in navigating their current mental health needs. I have a Master's Degree (MEd) and Education Specialist Degree (EdS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University. It is no secret how hard life can be. There are pressures coming at us from everywhere. Work, school, family, relationships-the list may seem endless. It can be difficult to cope with these stressors or life events that are thrown our way. I specialize in trauma focused therapy for those who need the support, education, and skills to work through events that have happened. I want to work with you in discovering the best approach to heal and be our most authentic selves. I have provided therapeutic services to adults and children with sexual abuse and trauma histories since 2015. Although I have spent most of my education and career focusing on trauma, I also have substantial experience with a wide array of mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, eating disorders and more. I am an EMDR therapist and utilize other techniques such as CBT, Family Systems, and other trauma focused therapies.

Put your mental health first. Many times in the past, I have got so caught up with multiple responsibilities, that I stopped caring well for myself, which hindered my ability to meet my responsibilities. I have found it necessary, at those times, to cut back and turn my attention to self-care. Whatever difficulty you may be facing, academic, relationships, or emotional, I encourage you to get help. The sooner you address it, the easier it is to correct. The treatment approach will depend upon your needs. If you have an addiction, or similar behavioral problem, Motivational Interviewing is the best evidence-based approach. If it is PTSD, EMDR. I am eclectic, using the SAMHSA.gov best practice recommendations for the treatment of trauma, addictions, anxieties, and mood disorders. See my website for more information.

Grit & Grace is more than just a name but a way of life. These words are obviously opposites but can also be interconnected and complementary to each other. In order for therapy to be successful, we need the strength to recognize what is no longer serving us, the balance of being aware of our emotions enough to manage them in a way that is gentle, honest, and wise, and we need to honor our past and present in order to move into the future with grace.

Do you experience hypervigilance? panic? overwhelm? avoidance? unexplained physical symptoms? Many of my clients didn't realize that their symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and relationship struggles stem from trauma. Trauma isn't just something soldiers experience — it encompasses so many different life experiences. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to get at the root of your symptoms, rather than putting a bandaid on them for a temporary fix. I'm trained in EMDR 2.0 and the Four Blinks Flash technique, and I use advanced EMDR software to work effectively with clients online. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for clients ready to go deeper when talk therapy has reached its limits, along with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and ADHD-informed therapy. I've worked extensively with people in the LGBTQ+ community. If you're interested in working together, reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation — we can decide if we're a good fit. You are making an amazing and brave step in your healing journey!

My intention is to guide you into your next phase of life that's not only authentic and free but deeply fulfilling. Within our sessions, we’ll create a sanctuary where you can openly explore your desires and aspirations with curiosity and the space to be yourself. Together, we can address: - Managing and easing worry, fears, and anxieties. - Exploring better understanding and coping with low energy and depressed mood. - Relationship dynamics, including familial, romantic, and professional. - Navigating life transitions and the nuance of finding comfort in your new normal. - Uncovering pathways to personal development, through identity exploration, boundary-setting, existential questions, and processing trauma. With each individual's desires being unique, my role is to support you through the challenges and celebrations of life while ensuring that every step you take is moving you towards a life that truly aligns with what you value most. Our collaborative work will empower you, connecting you with your internal strengths and innate healing abilities, to realize your vision with confidence and clarity. Central to our sessions are effective modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), enriched by holistic philosophies. For those interested, I weave in breathwork, mindfulness exercises, guided meditations, and gentle movement, providing a comprehensive toolkit for healing and wellness. I cater to both adolescents and adults, customizing our sessions to meet you on your journey, aiming to cultivate: - An enriching connection with your inner wisdom and compassion. - Authenticity and comfort in your interactions, founded on self-acceptance. - The joy of freely expressing your true self, enhancing intimacy in all relationships. - Routine practices that propel you towards the life you desire. - Clear understanding of your values and future aspirations, grounded in self-trust. Outside of my work as a holistic psychotherapist, my passions include nature, dance, travel, yoga, and time with loved ones which inspire my approach to holistic wellness. I accept Aetna & Cigna Insurances as well as private pay. If you're considering taking steps toward growth and fulfillment, I invite you to schedule a consultation. Together, we will discover the vibrant essence of your being. I am currently offering virtual sessions.

College is an exciting time though it can be an overwhelming one as well. College comes with its own unique set of challenges - increased workload, the need for greater time management, increased independence, and trying to find a good work-life balance, to name a few. College life can bring on new anxiety or exacerbate pre-existing anxiety, and managing this and coping in healthy and effective ways can prove difficult at times. Anxiety and stress can also trigger new or worsen pre-existing Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), like excoriation disorder (skin picking) and trichotillomania (hair pulling). If you are a female student struggling with anxiety and need help managing it, and/or are having a difficult time with BFRBs, I would love to work with you. Together we will work on identifying stressors/triggers as well as strategies and skills you can use to better manage your anxiety and/or your BFRB. I look forward to meeting you!

I’m a good fit for students who get trapped in their head—overthinking everything, replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, or feeling like they can’t relax unless everything is “handled.” You might be high-achieving, but constantly stressed, exhausted, or scared of messing up. Sometimes that turns into procrastination, avoidance, or feeling numb. In therapy, we’ll focus on helping you calm the mental noise, handle stress more effectively, and build confidence in your choices—so school and life don’t feel like a constant emergency.

I work really well with "type A" people with anxiety - those who are pragmatic and practical and used to getting stuff done, but now are finding it harder to make decisions and get as much done as they used to. I also work well with people who are accused of being "robotic" or "without feelings." Couples have claimed to actually enjoy working with me for premarital counseling, or figuring out how to deal with their parents/siblings/friends who might not be in favor of their match. In my office I try to speak plainly and say what needs to be said - you won't feel like you need to watch your language or censor yourself in any way.
