Anxiety, depression, and overwhelming feelings can weigh you down. Quite frankly, it can feel like a real B-Word sometimes! I hear you. Many times, overwhelming feelings can pull you away from living your best life and living to your potential.  Hello, I am Alexann Masiko-Meyer, I am an eclectic counselor that would be filled with gratitude to support you.  I am an LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor) providing services in North Carolina, New Jersey, Canada, England, United Arab Emirates, Japan, China, New Zealand.... and growing Lets get back to living life unapologetically! SPECIALTIES Stress, Anxiety Depression Self esteem Adjustments / Life Changes Military Transitions Teens & Young Adults I also have experience in LGBTQ, Relationship issues, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Anger management, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes Years of Experience: 5 I expect nothing less than being held to professional standards.  However, in full disclosure, I don't take myself too seriously, and I wholeheartedly feel that being a bit goofy, and being quirky, and maybe a bid different is okay!  Many times, it is more than ok, and what makes us more of an individual, helps on the journey to wellness, being unapologetically yourself, putting a laugh out there to the universe and finding the good things in life along the way. Humor and levity may be evident and incorporated into the therapeutic process.   I feel that everyone should have the ability to access mental wellness support and counseling.  As a military spouse, and moving all over the country for 18 years, allthewhile working in the helping profession, I have grown to recognize the cultural apprehension, inability to access and equity issues that surround access to counseling.    Summer Sessions Counseling is founded on the belief that mental wellness support should be accessible by everyone without stigma, physical access and transportation barriers, without requiring a diagnosis, to access one's best self. What is therapy like?  What can I expect from my first session? The first session is typically a review of information you supplied on your intake form and address concerns that you may have. As you progress in your therapeutic journey, you will get into the real nitty gritty, strategies & processing activities, psychotherapy, counseling activities, art therapy, journaling and carving a new path to your ultimate goal.

Are you a queer, BIPOC, or neurodivergent person struggling with relentless self-criticism? It might feel like you can’t stop beating yourself up and feeling like you’re not good enough, no matter how hard you try. This self-doubt can be reinforced by others treating you differently and the systemic oppression which is present in so many aspects of our world today. If you’re ready to escape from a shame spiral, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome! My name is Sajl, and I’m a nonbinary and South Asian therapist based in Frisco, TX. I work with motivated and insightful teens and adults via telehealth to liberate themselves from self-hatred. My goal is to provide you with an affirming, compassionate, and honest therapeutic space in which you are free to explore and understand where these beliefs stem from. Together, we’ll get to the root cause of your pain and help you develop a kinder and gentler inner voice. As a young queer person of color, I know what it’s like to be unsure of whether aspects of my identity will be accepted in new spaces. Rest assured, every aspect of what makes you who you are is invited when we share space together. My therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive, identity-affirming, and liberation-centered. I incorporate aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy, relational cultural therapy, and attachment theory to help you understand and face your pain with courage and compassion. If you’re ready to release the burden of the pain you’ve been carrying, I would be honored to lighten your load and walk alongside you in the path towards healing.

Our time together will be spent figuring the aspects- emotional, intellectual, sensory-based, and behavioral- of life through out your own story. Growing into learning how to listen to yourself so you can trust what it is you know, and what it is you need will be at the core of each session so that the feelings of stress, overwhelm, anxiousness, depression no longer keep you detached from yourself. The tools I use are done with cultural considerations, and by acknowledging the extra burdens social constructs and systemic environments put on you. I start with listening and being a witness to your story. With your consent, I use therapeutic tools to assist you in taking an objective stance in your story, and in offering yourself compassion. Continuing through developing and honing in on how you understand your experience through strengthening the connection between your mind and body. I am also trained in and have used EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) with children, teens, adults of both the neurodiverse (Autism, ADHD, etc.) and neurotypical populations. EMDR is used in session, with your consent, when you feel the need to address larger internal hurdles such as phobias or trauma(s) (also known as PTSD or C-PTSD). All of the work will be done at your pace and with your specific needs in mind. I am an affirming counselor and believe counseling should be for everyone. I understand the systemic pressure that can have you trying to “get it right!” A benefit to you may be my stance on de-stigmatizing mental health by avoiding rigid diagnoses and accepting that there is more than one way to live and thrive in this/your world.  I will be ready when you are. Until then, good luck on your search. My license number is #93296. I am supervised by Stamatis Bogdanos, LPC-S | #64556 in Houston, Tx. Counseling should be affordable and accessible to everyone. We all need an ally to lean on at times. Struggles and hardships can be a natural part of life. We all need support as we navigate through stressful times. I see my role as a therapist as one of a caregiver, a provider of strength, and a collaborative problem-solver. I have experience with a wide variety of people, including individuals without a diagnosis to those diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and anxiety and depression. My practice is LGBT safe and affirming. I also have extensive experience helping people throughout the processes of both voluntary and involuntary termination of pregnancy. I enjoy providing support to my clients in an open-minded, encouraging, relaxed, non-judgmental way. It is important to me that my clients know that I support them, and that I do not judge. Life can be tough and overwhelming at times. Seeking counseling is a brave step toward a new outlook, I applaud you for that decision, and I am here to help. I pride myself on being accepting, easygoing, discreet, and affordable. I am currently accepting new clients, and I have a flexible schedule, so if you’re considering counseling, please call me. I’m happy to answer questions, provide information, and see if we’re a good fit. Supervised by Beck A Munsey, PhD, LPC-S

If you feel that this is your season for change, I would be honored to collaborate with you on your journey. I believe in providing trauma-informed, person-centered care and specialize in working with clients who deal with ADHD, anxiety, depression, chronic physical health problems, life transitions, relational stress, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and mood disorders. A bit about my approach to therapy: Because there is no one-size-fits-all in therapy, I use an Eclectic approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This allows me to tailor each session to meet your individual needs and preferences. What you can expect from our first session: During our initial session, we will explore what led you to begin therapy and collaborate on how we can meet your goal. In-between sessions, you will have skill-building strategies to use and check-ins during the following sessions to determine effectiveness. We will tailor your journey to promote symptom relief and sustained improvement using emotional regulation and cognitive restructuring.

I help guide young men through life's challenges by teaching skills that will help them in all facets of their life. Tired of feeling stuck, alone and not knowing how or what to change. Book your free consult through my website and let's see if working together is the best next step for you. No need to go it alone anymore.

Finding calm and clarity when your mind won’t slow down is possible. I can guide the way. We have more influence over our thoughts than we realize. In our work, you’ll learn to approach your thinking more intentionally. As your thoughts change, you’ll start to notice changes in how you feel, the choices you make, and how you move through your life. I help clients slow things down, make sense of what’s been difficult, and address the patterns that keep them feeling stuck. This often includes working through anxiety, depression, and the impact of trauma and past experiences. I also support women navigating life transitions, helping them feel more grounded and steady through change. My approach is thoughtful and practical, combining insight with tools you can use in your day-to-day life.
