I believe in empowering individuals to take control of their health. I have a deep belief in the ability for you to overcome difficulties. As a therapist, I believe, you are the expert in your experience and it is my role to provide a safe, understanding, and non-judgemental space for you to heal, grow, and move into a new way of being and feeling. But that doesn’t mean you have to figure everything out on your own–we will work together. I am here to support you in your healing journey. Collaboratively, we will set goals on both what you want to achieve and things that you want to rid from your life. Burying or ignoring our pain may feel like the only way we can move past them. In reality, painful things that happen to us can continue to impact our ability to maintain and develop healthy relationships, as well as our overall physical and mental health. Difficult circumstances may even alter the way we view ourselves and the world around us; making us seem like we aren’t “worthy” or a “good person.” I am here to help you regain the sense of who you want to be in the world and to free yourself of negative views of yourself. You are meant to thrive and I am here to support you until you get to where you want to be. Maybe you don’t know what you want to do with your life at this point. Perhaps a relationship has gone sour, you found out that the degree you received or the job you have is not what you want. Therapy can help you figure out your next steps and change the path you have been on. I have experience working with both men and women of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. In addition, I have worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and childhood trauma. I have a great deal of passion for working with people who want to boost their self-esteem. I have a great deal of knowledge on how to help resolve intimacy issues in relationships and also with one’s self. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression. I have a strong conviction to help serve the LGBTQ+ community as well as experience and resources.

It is a privilege to hear a person’s life story and help them heal, grow, and navigate through challenges. I often utilize the relationship between mind and body to aid in becoming the healthiest version of oneself, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I have worked in Community Mental Health settings for the last 13 years doing crisis work, assessments, and therapy. I am currently the therapist for the Mental Health Court in Clinton County and working at Therapy Today part-time. In the past, I worked in various outpatient and residential settings with adolescents, adults, and couples. I did conflict resolution with Friend of the Court participants in West Michigan.

Please contact me if you are looking for a therapeutic relationship that provides support and resources as we work to help you overcome anxiety, depression, and family conflict by creating an environment where you feel safe, your strengths are emphasized, your individual diversity is celebrated, and your treatment is paced appropriately for you. Often this therapeutic relationship can provide a space where you can unpack past experiences and gain perspective as to how past events may impact your life, relationships, and choices today. My eclectic and relational approach allows the flexibility needed to meet each person where they are and help them move forward in processing past challenges and growing more prepared to meet future challenges by providing not only strategies and tools to improve symptoms but also guiding you toward insight that may transform your perspective moving forward. Let's get started on your journey toward living life as your truest self. Learning to express your emotions, know yourself, and become able to protect your boundaries in relationships with others.
